It seems to. The use of food stamps has come down dramatically.

I’m sure this is possible, full-time is 40 hours a week and food stamp eligibility is based on Federal income guidelines (and dependents). The Federal minimum wage (nationwide is $7.25 (regardless of where one lives). The Federal authorities estimate an individual earning $7.25 an hour and working full-time is not eligible for food stamps. An applicant with a full time minimum wage AND a large number of dependents could get food stamps.
What they earn doesn’t matter, its the profits that matter. Pharmaceuticals and mobile device makers make big profits, professionals like dentists, attorneys and architects have high profits too, but most of the rest (retail and services) are in the 2-3% range.

Since most minimum wage earners are not employed by pharmaceuticals, mobile device producers or professionals, and work in retail or services, boosting their wages is very problematic for their employers.

Big retailers and services providers are turning to robots and automation because they can’t take the hit.

When your profit margin is just 2-3% you’ve got to consider payroll so we find supermarkets using bar coding to restock and timers instead of veggie clerks to spray produce. This will continue, in construction we find fast development of robotics and automation because this is a labor-intensive field and minimum wage workers are becoming too expensive too. McDonalds is using computers for customers to place orders.

Based on all that it really makes no sense to allow millions of poor, unedcated people to move to the IS

Yet thats wat liberals want to do

All you have to do is be born into a wealthy family.

Yes the Conservative idea of helping the poor is eliminating every government program designed to help lift people out of poverty. When you see hugh Conservative support for providing good education for everyone regardless of financial status feel free to post the legislation.

Otherwise what the Conservative plan actually amounts to is we kick the crutches out from under you to help you stand on your own.

The biggest predictor of the class you will end up in is the class you were born into. That is a fact!

The issue is what to do about the unintelligent and unambitious. Someone with talent, intelligence or skill will be discovered and rise.

There’s this talented Iranian musician who fled religious persecution and was discovered in Turkey playing his guitar for coins on the streets of Istambul, now the rage in Las Vegas doing shows.

Care to explain how it's easy for millions of American children to avoid poverty?

The data suggests there’s a just a 7-8% chance immigrant children will not remain as poor as their parents. This seems a good reason not to facilitate their entry.

The first thing we do for the lazy and unambitious is to stop admitting poor uneducated people from other countries

After that, instead of increading welfare we cut it off entirely for able bodied adults

Make them work even against their will

And that is even the facts ... because his mother has demonstrably asserted and educated her children so that it is a question of genes, whether people are poor or rich ... and the rich of course have the better genes, why they should not mix with the race of the poor.

    Clueless BS from you--again.

The American Dream has morphed into the American Nightmare because people (like you?) excuse and support dog-eat-dog policies that leave lower- and middle-class Americans with lousy schools, inadequate health care, and their businesses destroyed by unregulated, predatory corporations.

Look at those graphs ... if you're lower- or middle-class, you're better off living in Canada.

Uh huh. Any advice for many millions of American kids who go to school hungry?

Want an education? Drop by a school in a poor community and watch kids eat a free breakfast.

What does this have to do with the topic? Are you saying you want kids to go to work instead of school? Or that it's the kids fault they are poor?

    This is from Trump's USDA...

Millions of hungry kids--more than 1% of the population. Why are you blaming children?

You're the guy who says 99% of Americans can solve their poverty problem and I pointed out how far more than 1% of Americans living in poverty are children.
