https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/31/media/laura-ingraham-paul-nehlen-extremists/index.html Laura Ingraham has reached a new low, this time defending a Neo-Nazi who wants all American Jews to be killed. Laura defended Neo-Nazi Paul Nehlen, who was banned from Facebook due to his extremist and violent views. Laura stated, in defense of Nehlen and other bigots: "Facebook now, what do they monitor? Quote, hate? That sounds good until you realize hate," Ingraham said. "And these are some of the people they've shunned. It's people who believe in border enforcement, people who believe in national sovereignty," Meanwhile, Nehlen wore a t-shirt celebrating the racist who massacred 12 Jews at a Pittsburgh synagogue and stated: "Because, I want to make a point that it will ultimately take -- it might not take a million Robert Bowers -- but it's going to take a lot of people all pushing in the same direction to do what needs to be done, and that is to rid white lands of Jews," Nehlen said on the podcast. "Because they are going to undermine our ability to thrive as a race. They are going to wipe us off the face of the earth." What does Fox News have to say? They defended Ingraham. Like clockwork. Just shows us what Fox News truly is: FNC=Fascist News Channel
This is what they had to say. "Anyone who watches Laura's show knows that she is a fierce protector of freedom of speech and the intent of the segment was to highlight the growing trend of unilateral censorship in America,"
A person is free to say what they will, but it doesn't guarantee a platform or an audience. All media is free to chose their sources of news or commentary. If you get dumped by the media, a soapbox or chataqua tent is always available. There you are free to say anything you want.
She did not specifically defend him. She included him along with many others who facebook banned. Your OP is intentionally misleading and a fail
It's not defending them, but rather freedom of speech. There are things called principles which are more important than anything else.
Reagan’s a fascist! Eisenhower’s a fascist! So were Nixon, Ford, Bush ... Fox is fascist! The WSJ is fascist! Low taxes is fascist! Protecting our borders is fascist! Pro-life is fascist! The Constitution is fascist!
What Fox did is known technically as a mistake. As a former journalist, I can assure everyone with 90 percent certainty that this is what happened: 1. Ingraham wanted to make a point about de facto censorship. 2. she asked the art department to make a graphic including people who had been censored, to show that she was talking about a real trend. 3. in talking with Owens she referred to some of the people who had been censored as “people who believe in border enforcement, people who believe in national sovereignty”; she didn’t mean this to be a complete list: she was asserting that some of the censored people had been censored for defending things she likes. 4. The juxtaposition of the graphic and her words made it look as if she favored Nehlen’s positions. “Liberals” will not accept this because they do not believe in fairness.
I feel your pain, bro'. I am also a "Journalist" (I have won several Prestigious Awards--However the need for Anonymity precludes me from revealing my associations). I disagree with your take. But hey, it is only the internet. So, carry on.
She defends free speech. The left does not believe in free speech. Go to any institution of higher learning and you will see exactly how to eliminate free speech.
More of the attack on free speech. People have died preserving this right. You claim that they died for nothing.
The 1st Amendment only guarantees freedom of speech from GOVERNMENT interference. It does not say that private companies are forced to be platforms for any and every type of speech. Isn't that the whole idea behind the wedding cake argument for conservatives - freedom to associate as one wishes?
