Cartels are only involved because they are cartels, which is an organization focused on the manufactur and distribution of goods. Making marijuana legal strikes the heaviest blow to cartels. Marijuana is a weed and it can grow anywhere. So if it's illegal and you can grow your own based on a few seeds you plant, that's one customer that doesn't pay the cartel.

I think the deaths from the cartels should be placed on making weed illegal.

You are arguing the wrong case. If the argument is simply 'it isn't a choice' then the terminally stupid, prejudiced & outright evil will never cease their search for a 'cure', which amounts to torturing people to make them behave the way you want. You have seen how these people think, torturing people who are different to them or forcing them to live lesser lives just because they are different is perfectly fine with them, if not outright desirable.

I guarantee you I could 'cure' every heterosexual on this board given the time, resources & legal ability. Of course, they would be horrified at being treated this way, as that sort of thing is only for those they classify as 'lesser'.

Just stick to arguing that if consenting adults want to have sex with each other then it is nobody's damned business & nobody gets to discriminate against somebody else because they don't like that they are gay, trans etc. No Bibles, Korans, other holy books or deeply ingrained prejudices get a say. Just the same set of rights across the board.

Who people sleep with is none of my business and i prefer it remain that way.
However the concept of gays being a legitimate minority is predicated on the idea of it not being a choice, that it's genetic. That they are born that way.
If it were genetic, thoes genes would be reducing in frequency because gay people do not reproduce.

However lets assume for a moment that it is genetic. What happens when we study pedophiles and find there is a genre that makes them that way?? What about rapists?
