Is the naive, militarily challenged, foreign policy neophyte, Trump starting a war with Iran?

It would appear so, although he says he doesn't want a war with Iran. Unfortunately, Americans have learned not to trust anything he says. After all, this is the man who recently said, “No, it’s not what I meant. It’s what I said."

Moreover, actions speak louder than words, and Trump is doing all he can to provoke Iran. After unwisely withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Tehran struck by the Obama administration, which permanently barred Iran from making a nuclear weapon, Trump ratcheted up the sanctions. In April, he moved to shut down Iran’s remaining oil exports.

The only peaceful resolution from this economic vise offered by Trump was a dozen U.S. dictates that would completely reverse Iranian foreign policy and suggested regime change. Combative Secretary of State Mike Pompeo laid out the demands himself, and Pompeo speculated, “what can change is, the people can change the government.”

So, it is quite clear Trump is trying to back Iran up against a wall. If that is Trump's intention, a major flare-up between Washington and Tehran could lead to one of the nastiest, bloodiest conflicts in modern history.

Trump does not have any alternative to the JCPOA -- the nuclear deal he trashed -- other than harsh language, increased sanctions, and threats. Also, Iran, should they choose, could duplicate what Trump did, leave the JCPOA and resume her nuclear research.

Consequently, Thursday produced the entirely predictable images of oil tankers burning near the Strait of Hormuz — and the very real danger of escalation toward armed conflict.

    Thank you, Mr. President.

Of course, Trump blames Iran for the attacks, which U.S. officials say involved attaching underwater mines to the ships.

Iran may well be behind the attacks, but there are questions.

First and foremost, why in the world would Iran risk a war with the lone superpower on the planet? There is nothing to suggest that the mullahs are suicidal, and there are serious doubts they want Tehran turned into a parking lot.

The Japanese owner of one of the oil tankers attacked disputes what the Trump administration is saying, and it is awfully convenient the attack occurred while Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was visiting Iran. A bit too convenient, I am not a fan of coincidences.

“We received reports that something flew towards the ship,” Yutaka Katada, president of Kokuka Sangyo, said Friday. “I do not think there was a time bomb or an object attached to the side of the ship.” Katada pointed out that the projectile was above the waterline. Why in the world would anyone plant a mine above the waterline?

On Thursday, Americans learned about a report from U.S. officials that said that an un-exploded mine was attached to one of the ships. On Friday, the U.S. military released video appearing to show an Iranian craft removing an un-exploded mine from one of the vessels. The object was above the waterline.

How did the U.S. military get their hands on that video? Who shot the video? Who caught the IRGC red-handed?

The Lincoln CBG (Carrier Battle Group), of which the guided missile destroyer Bainbridge is a part, was in the area. All 21 crew members of the Kokuka Courageous were rescued by the Bainbridge.

Question, an American CBG controls the seas surrounding its position. How did an Iranian boat move in and remove this mine?

Iran may be responsible. However, questions abound.

Do you disagree with out own experts who say Iran was responsible for the attacks on the Tankers?

Trump disagrees with our intelligence experts all the time.

This all could have been avoided by reworking the Iran Nuclear deal rather than tossing the framework out the window.
Now, Trump is about to start a war with absolutely zero international support. Unlike the Iraq war, we will have to finance 100% of the cost and not have any backing militarily or politically except from the Saudis, and they're already fighting their own war. It's a cluster ****.

The US Navy says they have video proving Iran is responsible.

And normally I would believe them ... but Trump has convinced me that the Intelligence community is part of the Deep State.

The Joint Chiefs will not let Trump start a war with Iran.

    They will arrest him first.

So we have proof of Iran attacking innocent shipping but Sandy thinks we are evil for standing up to them for it.

Thinks we are the ones provoking a war.

I guess he misses Obama who would have bent over and offered them concessions if they would quit being so mean.

Iran is leading itself to war with the Saudi's. It's tankers carrying Saudi exports that they're targeting. The US is helping to arm the Saudi's. Iran might be on the verge of forming an alliance between SA and Israel who's also had enough of Iran's bullshit.

The day Obama lifted Iranian sanctions, Iran ordered $9 billion in Russian advanced weaponry. Iran bought air defense systems to shield itself against retaliatory air strikes for violating a treaty that they never intended to abide by. Obama was the worst foreign policy maker we've ever had.

Fake News, PrincipleInvestment. Iran has a right to protect itself from any other nation in the world. The rest of the world thinks Trump wrong about the Iran agreement.

    There will be no war.

Putin appreciates that you support his middle east allies, but the civilized world does not JS. Iran is a terrorist state, and the Irainian Guard is designated a terrorist organization. Iran is all that stands in the way of middle east peace. They will bring about their own destruction and the civilized world will celebrate JS.

I've seen enough of this contrived bullshit in my life to smell a rat. There are a lot of questions surrounding the latest tanker incident. What is clear is that the Moron in Chief stupidly trashed the seven nation JCPOA (the first letter stands for joint) that was working as intended. Tump is the dumbest most reckless moron to ever walk by the White House much less live in it. His likeminded fowlers are just dumb enough to help Bone-spurs start a war. But it won't happen that way.

Trump has created a crisis to put him center stage in his play (Stage One). Now he needs to heat it up a bit - yell holler and rattle the sabers (Stage Two). Then Trump, the great master negotiator rushes in with a magic "deal." (Stage Three) Trump's "magic deal" saves the day and the carrier group sails off into the sunrise. (Stage four - The Grand Finale)

Watch, listen, and learn good posters. He's already started working on the deal - he wants to talk to Iranian later to cut a new deal. Better than the JCPOA, Who is dumb enough to trust Mr. Bone-spurs? Sleep well America, thanks to our great leader. Wise up for god's sake. Unless you like being played.

Go to your 4th sentence ... "dumbest most reckless moron" and replace Trump with Rouhani. Iran is targeting Saudi export tankers, and Trump is selling weapons to the Saudi's. Rouhani's "fowlers(?) are just dumb enough" to find themselves buried beneath the rubble beside him.

Somewhere deep within the Pentagon there has to be a group of psychologists/psychiatrists who are keeping an eye on the madness in the Whitehouse and advising top brass of their observations.

We have no allies in the EU. Trump's managed to forge an alliance with the UK after forcing Teresa May to resign. Merkel & Macron are defying US sanctions and propping up Vlad's military industrial complex with their petro-dollar$. Tlaib and Omar have indoctrinated you.

An absurd statement. Who's funding the Houthis and Hezbollah and Hamas among others? The sanctions on Iran have chiefly provoked a funding shortage among all the worlds terrorist organizations a funding shortage highlighting just how deeply involved in the Islamic terror net Iran is. The Sanctions on I ran are worth it for that alone defunding their nuke program is a nice side benefit.
