It doesn't really matter that you can't establish a one one one correspondence between every dollar the government takes in and every dollar they spend. The THEORY is that you are paying for YOUR OWN education from all those years ago and this present generation will be paying for theirs some years down the road. What's "tiresome", Aleks, is a strident viewpoint on taxation of ALL property owners in this country must fund a public institution that is ONLY used by parents for their offspring -- and it is totally UNFAIR on its face. The people who think that such extractions of money from ALL property owners are also the same kind of people who think that ALL citizens of the United States should pay 'reparations' to a select demographic group because of practices that ENDED in this country more than 150 years ago! I don't like the concept of ascribing any specific malady to him. That's the job of a personal medical health professional. But I will say this: I don't think he's well. If a family member were acting like this, I'd try to get them to seek psychiatric help. He has obvious difficulty coming to terms with reality when that reality is inconvenient for his agenda. He heard about a woman who lost a child and wrote a public letter of supposed condolence that focused more on his own sexual escapades than to it did on the family. He faked his identity on several occasions to try to spread fake news pumping up his reputation. He lies reflexively, often about easily-debunked things of no real importance. He struggles with basic human empathy. This is not a well man.
Is President Trump mentally ill? It is healthy for anyone to love or at least like themselves. But Trump is extreme in his love of self. It is so strong, it overpowers every other aspect of his life, including his Presidency. Trump is so focused on self-serving strategies, they supersede his oath of offfice by placing his concerns for personal profit or advancement or advantage, over his concerns for America or Americans whom he is sworn to serve. I watch as every one of his political decisions are marked by the way they impact him personally, rather than how it will impact the country itself or its people in their daily lives. To that, he is close to impervious. I am no psychiatrist, psychologist, or social worker, but I suspect anyone with a narcissistic trait as powerful as Trump's, is subject to possible mental illness.
