Talk about a comment lacking context. Is it necessary for me to humiliate you or do you acknowledge the circumstances Obama inherited when he became prez were the single biggest factor for the budget deficits during his admin?

He had a democratic congress who passed the spending bills and Obama signed them. I did not think he should bail out the banks. He did that all by himself.

That was a 400 billion out of a nearly 1200 billion deficit.

The mythology surrounding Ron is astounding.

No, it has everything to do with how Republican economic ideology is screwed up. How its ridiculousness has been screwing up our economy, our infrastructure, and our social structure.

Most of the spending increases under President Reagan were to the defense budget. Overall he did a fairly good job of holding down increases in domestic spending. To his credit so did President Clinton.

I did. I had that wrong, but Obama was responsible for the major part of the deficit and that which continued on for the next eight years for a total of nearly ten trillion dollars. The biggest in our nations history. He spent over four years of it trying to get below the 8% unemployment rate which he claimed we would never exceed. The labor participation rate dropped to the lowest since the late 1970s.

Is there a reason that you are not registering this very important aspect of tax cuts - that they are paid for with loans. Every tax cut since Reagan has been paid for with increased debt. Debt that does not go away but just builds, each and every day.

The revenue went up, but the government spent even more.

You are ignoring the spending increases. With increasing revenues, spending increases. Stop the spending increases and the problem is solved. Problem is the elephant in the room is mandatory spending which exceeds the growth rate of the GDP.

Yet, the national debt during his tenure went from $908B to $2.8T. You'll forgive me if I don't give him credit for wasteful defense spending representing the biggest portion of increased domestic spending.

Of course you know that this is mostly a function of the House of Representatives. Obama, over the course of his presidency reduced the deficit, but he was powerless against the debt because congressional Republicans refused to raise any taxes.

He reduced the deficit he created. Just to make one thing clear. This government does not have a revenue problem. They have a spending problem

Do you realize, that in the past year, that the economy has been being propped up with a trillion dollars in new debt and those wonderful little taxes called tariffs.

I guess you are correct. Since Trump has been in office my 401K is up nearly 25%, my friends all are working at good jobs, the federal judicial system has well over 115 new young conservative judges, and I wake up every day to the sound of lefties beating their collective heads against the wall wailing because President Trump has foiled their every attempt to get him out of office.
Things could not be better thank you very much.
At least I'm not one of those,

Wow! How impressive in your analysis. Thankfully, folks like you were pushed aside and the economy recovered. Fact? NOBODY, including the guys that did it, favored bailing out the banks. The choices were that or a compete meltdown of the American economy and depression.

Dont worry. Just in case you do forget, I will always be here to remind you how dumb Trump, and by extension his worshipers / boot lickers, are.

Considering that when Reagan took office he had to basically recapitalize the entire U.S. military after the post Vietnam draw down and President Carters four years of willful neglect I would not call it "wasteful".
