    of the segregationist ilk.

Kamala Harris, a descendant of slave owners, was aghast.

Yeah it was nice for "Uncle Joe" to bring up Democrat's Segregationist past. Everyone knows that Ku Klux Klan was the militant arm of the Democratic Party, and that avowed segregationists populated the Democrat Party until very recently.

Segregationists like James Eastland and Herman Talmadge, whose racist credentials have never been challenged, were fixtures in the Democrat Party and Joe Biden bragged about his ability to be civil, get along and work together with these Segregationist Democrats. His weird praise for Eastland on the grounds that he didn’t call Biden “boy” was as strange as anything that has plopped out of Biden's mouth.

Then MSNBC tried to rewrite history and pass these Segregationists off as Republicans. Do they know that Bull Connor was a member of the Democratic National Committee?

Senator Tom Cotton quickly set MSNBC straight:

A history lesson is warranted: Senators James Eastland and Herman Talmadge were *Democrats*—as were other segregationists. @JoeBiden & them have nothing to do with “bipartisanship,” so please leave GOP out of Democrats’ debates about their party’s troubled history on race.

With Democrats vile racist history, if the Democrats ever actually vote for a plan to tax some Americans and give the money to other Americans, based on skin color or 1/1,024 ethnic purity it will be the end of the Democrat Party.

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archi...ked-with-segregationists-on-racial-issues.php

One of the witnesses testifying against the Democrats’ legislation was Burgess Owens, author and former star NFL player. He suggested that if anyone is going to pay reparations to African-Americans, it should be the Democratic Party:

The Democrat Party should probably pay all of us reparations for doing its best to stir up racial antagonism in the recent decades.

The liberal media will probably take out Biden in short order, I can almost guarantee it. If a racist is going to run on the democrat ticket then the race that person must hate is white people.

The Democrat party was known as the "white man's party." They voated against every piece of civil rights legislation in Congress for 100 years after the Civil War. They voted against the 13th Amendment, 14th Amendment(granting slaves citizenship), 15th Amendment(gave slaves the right to vote) and Civil Rights Act of 1866 and Reconstruction Act of 1867. They were responsible for Jim Crow Laws and the Black Civil Codes. They filibustered against making lynching a federal crime. They were the party of the KKK.
This is Biden's party. Biden has said that he was against desegregation and busing. He called Strom Thurmond " one of his closest friends" and gave the eulogy at his funeral. He called Robert Byrd a "dear friend" just like the Clintons and we know Byrd was a higher-up in the KKK. Biden called John Stennis "a hero." Stennis opposed a school desegregation Supreme Court order to integrate. George Wallace, the governor of Alabama gave Biden an "outstanding young politician" award. These were some of his friends and people he admired. Years later, this is how he described Obama---"I mean, you've got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a story-book, man." This is Joe Biden...

They have been keeping him under wraps exactly because he is a gaff machine. It will be a while before he's let out of his cage again.

Say what you will about Biden. He does have a history of working across the aisle coming up with compromises while playing the game of give and take as a senator. Whether he or anyone else could do that in today's poisoned, very partisan political atmosphere is unknown. Probably not as we have too many hard core partisans in Washington D.C. these days.

Loved his working across the aisle to say that Trump's election was like MLK's assassination when it was actually the delivery on MLK's I have a dream speech. African Americans have never had it as good as it has been under Trump. In contrast, Obama delivered on his promise of managing the decline of the country while mocking the idea that Trump could bring back the jobs he brought back.

I think you mistake intolerance of diverse viewpoints with partisanship. Socialism's historic and consistent failure has rendered socialist regimes intolerant to the point of being genocidal --- wherever it has planted itself.

They did the same with Hillary. Her polling numbers would drop the more she was seen in public and the more she spoke/coughed.

Then come the general-even with the MSM giving her debate questions ahead of time she lost the debates, and of course lost the election.

There's no doubt that Biden as a senator worked across the aisle to get things done.

Everyone has an opinion. I'd rather see the Dems run a fresh young face. But Joe would do for me. At least a heck of a lot better than a few other Dems who have announced.

Yes he's not the worst of the clown car but he will be beaten like a baby seal by Trump.

Biden is out of his element and it shows.

If you look into Biden's career in the senate you'll find that he wasn't one hard core no compromise Democrat. Yes, most of the time he'd follow the party line. Yet he was able to work with others across the aisle to get a compromise to keep legislation moving forward. He didn't have to get 100% if he seen progress.

Now in today's political atmosphere, is it possible to work with the other party? To try to find a compromise that can keep things moving forward? I'm not sure that is possible today.

It's way to early to tell. I don't think Biden will receive the democratic nomination. As for who'll win in 2020, I follow independents very closely. History shows that on average 90% of Republicans and Democrats vote for their party's nominee. That usually leaves independents to decide who will be the winner. Biden's and Trump's favorable/unfavorable numbers are close to even among independents today. All they mean is that if the election were held today, independents could go either way.

Those numbers change all the time, I wouldn't take them seriously until around the December, January time frame.

Biden and Democrats were toast when California moved its primary up. Only the most radical poop mappers will survive the CA Democrat Primary.
