Is the naive, militarily challenged, foreign policy neophyte, Trump starting a war with Iran?

That is another lie offered from Trump. Please read post 267 for the truth. The agreement permanently barred Iran from making a nuke.

Trump's Neville Chamberlain approach to Iran after she destroyed a $130 million dollar piece of equipment is getting downright embarrassing. I was watching the President as he made these statements. It was painful.

“The fact is we’re not going to have Iran have a nuclear weapon,” he said as he left the White House for a weekend at Camp David. “And when they agree to that, they are going to have a wealthy country, they’re going to be so happy and I’m going to be their best friend.”

Iran already agreed to nuclear disarmament. Trump destroyed the agreement. This is insanity. Did he forget that part?

Later he said Iran will be hit with unspecified new sanctions on Monday.

Our President is mentally ill, no doubt about it.

“Everybody was saying I’m a war monger. And now they say I’m a dove. And I think I’m neither, if you want to know the truth,” Trump told reporters. “I’m a man with common sense. And that’s what we need in this country, is common sense. But I didn’t like the idea of them knowingly shooting down an unmanned drone and then we kill 150 people.”

Everybody? I haven't heard anyone say that, and I often watch CNN, Trump's critic from hell. I have heard many people say he is incompetent, naive, and intelligence-challenged, but a warmonger, no. He doesn't have the balls to be a warmonger. We all know that.

He added: “I don’t want to kill 150 Iranians. I don’t want to kill 150 of anything or anybody unless it’s absolutely necessary.’”

Trump withdrew the U.S. from the nuclear deal with Tehran that permanently barred Iran from making a nuke.

Trump was asked what kind of provocation he believes would justify military action. "I would certainly go [to war] over nuclear weapons."

Trump ratcheted up sanctions — including, in April, a move to shut down Iran’s remaining oil exports.

Trump offered up a dozen draconian U.S. dictates that would completely reverse Iran's foreign policy, essentially calling for regime change.

On May 5th, Trump ordered a battleship-carrier strike group (CBG), led by the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, and a bomber task force, including B-52s, deployed off Iran’s coast.

Five days later, on May 10th, Trump ordered a second display of force: the U.S.S. Arlington and a battery of Patriot missile systems would join the Abraham Lincoln.

The U.S. military provoked the incident involving the RQ-4. The military sent up a drone to spy on Iran, and it was spying on Iranian facilities and military bases when it was shot down.

But Donnie doesn't want to hurt anybody. What an idiot.

Trump's fans believe every damn lie he tells them. You can provide a hundred sources saying one thing because it is reality. If Trump is saying something different, his fans will still believe him, and they don't much care for reality.

It is like they know they voted for an idiot, so they are forced to believe all the lies Trump tells them.

Trump continues to lie about the JCPOA. I have provided proof that the agreement permanently barred Iran from making a nuke.

In May 2018, Trump exited the Iran nuclear deal, even though Iran was in compliance. Trump castigated the deal as “horrible,” “laughable,” “disastrous,” largely, it seems, because it was negotiated by his hated predecessor. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo laid out 12 demands that the current Iranian regime would never meet; they included Iran’s cutting off support for all of its regional proxies and ending its missile program. National security adviser John Bolton signaled that the administration is interested not in reform but regime change; in February, he posted a video on the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution, telling the mullahs, “I don’t think you’ll have many more anniversaries to enjoy.”

It doesn't matter. His base believes Trump. His base is more like a cult rather than political base. They seem to like being lied to. When Trump is caught in a lie, which happens often, they just shrug it off and make some wisecrack or completely ignore it.

There are multiple examples of that on this thread.

Interesting. So the US is the villain here, trying to start a war with Iran for...I dunno, to get their laser sharks?

Again with the "battleship-carrier strike group (CBG).

Are you going to deny posting this again Sandy?

No, Trump is the villain here. Haven't you been following along? I have spelled it out for you ... several times, and you haven't questioned a thing.

Why are you protecting Trump? You don't say anything. You don't defend Trump. Your posts always concern me, and you avoid the reality of what Trump is doing.

Which makes you the typical Trump fan.

A carrier strike group is called a CBG, Carrier Battle Group.

I told you, you made an assumption.

Using your reasoning, it would called a BCG.

    You're not making much sense.

"Why are you protecting Trump? You don't say anything. You don't defend Trump."

So I'm protecting Trump by not saying anything or defending him? Frankly I'm unsure what you're trying to say. But following this thread, you went from thinking the tanker attack was a possible false flag, to thinking Trump was leading us into war (although refusing to answer my question on what you thought the odds were), to thinking that Trump is a coward for not following through? This is just over a period of a few days.

    You seem very confused.

He is confused. He has repeatedly said that "CBG" stood for "battleship carrier group" and then denied posting it even after I've pointed out where he did so.

No, I did not. Besides, I don't know how. Does anyone? Once you post a reply, it can't changed.

    You are wasting my time.

A person can change their own posts after posting it. Just click "Edit" which appears at the bottom where it shows you name and how long ago you made your post.

I thought you were better than this Sandy. Why not just admit you made a mistake? Why be dishonest?

    There are two key questions.

The first one is, will the U.S. military send up another UAV to spy on Iranian military installations?

The second one is, on June 27 will Iran surpass limits of its stockpile of enriched uranium set by the 2015 international nuclear deal unless European partners in the agreement do more to help it circumvent U.S. sanctions?

What I feared a year ago may happen. When Trump withdrew the U.S. from the JCPOA and sharply increased economic sanctions, he practically invited Iran to do the same. We are now seeing the consequences of that decision.

Why shouldn't we? If it stays in international air space the Iranians s have no reason to complain. and certainly no reason to fire on it.

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen ... he has been very threatening beyond a normal state. They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before."

Trump urged Venezuela’s military to drop their support for President Nicolas Maduro and allow humanitarian aid into the country. “You will find no safe harbor, no easy exit and no way out. You’ll lose everything,” Trump said.

Trump warned the United States may launch a devastating military attack on Iran unless it comes to the negotiating table and drops its bid to develop nuclear weapons. “I'm not looking for war, and if there is, it'll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before."

    Is there a pattern here?

    Or maybe not.

"On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it."

    Is this guy bipolar?

Yes I'm serious. Do you not understand the concept of "international air space"?

We don't shoot down Russian bombers near U.S. air space which happens often enough.

You clearly know how to edit posts since you constantly keep editing mine when you reply.

First, let's go back to my full comment which you edited:

The reason why I'm talking about you, rather than Trump, was in the part of my post which you edited out. So if you have any questions you can go back and read it again.

Actually the U.S. used to routinely send manned aircraft to spy on the Soviet Union. My point was that if the U.S. doesn't shoot down nuclear capable bombers approaching close to U.S. air space, why would the Iranians feel justified in shooting down a drone even if it was near their air space. ?
