Yes, those are places where 'free time' is a good place to spend it, help others, animals, and the community in general. Just because you may not see some woman in a short dress and heels, doesn't preclude them from being good places.

I scoped out the food bank today. Saw a guy there. Looks like it might work.

    Parking is an issue.

    Germans are stoic.
    The French are brusque.
    Italians are gregarious.

Just my observations. I liked gregarious.

Spaniards are friendly enough. I just preferred the Italians.

Growing up it was people and food everywhere. Not sometimes. All the time. Family was number one and still is. We didnt need a holiday to get together. Everyone lived within a 2 block radius. The only place for solitude was the bah..kaus (the bathroom) If you stayed in there too long, you were the king or queen of the bah..kaus. They would move the cars out of the garage and into the street and hose the garage floor down and cook food there so everyone could eat and party under the patio. When we went on family picnics, it was a convoy. My uncles and dad would line the cars up and they all followed each other to the park.
It was a great time to grow up. I got lucky being born into my family.

My brothers DNA test was 98% southern European and Iberian something. I think that may have something to do with Portugal. One of my grandfathers spoke in a limited sense of Portugal but that was before I was born.
My brother asked if I took a DNA test. I told him no. Im not handing my DNA over unless its a court order. He laughed and said why not. I said what do they do with it past testing it. Suppose they create another me with it someday. He said, Not happening. One of you is enough.
lol Bet your ass one of me is enough!

"If you can't fly with the big girls turn in your broom." It is probably a worn phrase but it brought a smile to my face. Thinking about getting a couple of newer models in different colors for my mood.

I had my DNA done and I lost confidence in the DNA tester. They gave me the test results and a few months later they notified me that they had corrected my test results. I am thinking what a fraud. If I was something one day I should be the same. Seems I am Irish, English, and Scottish. I am going to try another DNA tester and see what I get.

    Hi Daisy.
    How have you been?

What did they tell you when they corrected the results?
I read a while back that they base results on a DNA type consensus from people from locations. The more information they get from testing people maybe the more location focused they can be. Im not sure.
    What changed?

Didnt take me long to haul ass. Some idiot parked an 18 wheeler downtown and walked away. Theyve pretty much ruled out a bomb, but guess its better safe than sorry. Looking at all that traffic being re-routed, doubly glad to be on the train.

    Hehe.

The guy probably got fed up and quit.

I'm not the type to do such a thing, but I'd think about it.

I know I am old but I did take a biology course....when they were in the process of mapping the human genome. I learned what a gene actually is and how many combinations can occur. I don't think you can predict accurately ....offspring based on the parents genome. In other words....too much happens by chance. Traits seem to transfer from generation to generation. And my grandad was short and Irish....and I am tall and whatever ....Why would I want proof that something I am ....or I think I am.... is different from who I am?

Who I am is how I handle life and treat other folks. And say I am genetically Irish....is it Galic Irish or Nordic Irish?

At this point in the game, there has been so much intermarriage, I doubt it's clearly one or the other. Even those who say "I am 'X'", don't seem to realize that invading forces usually mucked up clean lineage....

I did mine out of curiosity more than anything. Now I question any DNA testing.

Wasn't that usually called Black or Red Irish? I guess the black was Galic and the red was Nordic.

Dallas driving is something else especially if you are an out of towner. I would probably park an 18 wheeler and walk away if I had to drive it in Dallas.

Glad you got out safe and sound.

I've been retired for almost three weeks. That means no more random drug tests.

I'm kinda surprised that I haven't been in one of the local pot stores, yet.
