As to educators, students, motor vehicles, marijuana, and countless other facets of everyday life.

Firearms are not going anywhere. They are as much an immutable fact of life in the united states as needing to breathe to continue living.

    Speaking of idiotic statements...
You cannot show this to be true.

Why do you want school shooters to not have to worry about someone shooting back at them?

Then what is being stated on the part of yourself, is that the only thing that has successfully kept you from murdering your own students, was the fact you were not armed at the time?

Then you cannot simultaneously support armed security guards or law enforcement officers.

How did you come up with this nonsense? What did I say that you could possibly twist & distort into something so perverse? Sometimes on this forum & on the internet, I see people saying things that make me feel they are disconnected from reality--or certainly not part of the reality I live in. I guess your post stands as living proof that "you make your own reality." Based on this one of your posts, you live in a very grungy, bleak, horrid one. :(

A misunderstanding on the part of myself then. With so many individuals going on and on about educators murdering students, or students being murdered by their educators for misbehaving, it is quite easy to confuse numerous points when addressing those that are participating in this continual back and forth argument.

I have no problem with that.. but again, we are talking about allowing teachers to be armed, not forcing them to be armed.

And yet the threat of massacres will still exist. No guns does not magically equal no violence. So there will still be a need for armed guards at some schools.

You're not really addressing my question.

Why is it okay to guard things like banks and courthouses with guns but not schools?

Do you seriously reckon they wouldn't?

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose... :D

Becaus you care more about your personal distaste for guns than protecting the children that you've been charged with.

Your only talking point is that it may make some teachers feel uncomfortable. I dont know about you, but I would much prefer that than dead children.

So Illinois, California, and Maryland are not Democratic States... I'm sure there is someone stupid enough to believe that. I hope you find them.

It is a fact that the overwhelming majority of gun crime in the US happens inside cities controlled by Democrats.

This is a self-evidently ridiculous statement.

The suburbs of Chicago are in the same State and under the same federal government as the city of Chicago. Yet only the city of Chicago is a crime-ridden cesspool. It is therefore entirely logical and fair to assign the blame to the politicians who control that city.

No. He doesn't. He is making a gross generalization and is speaking for all teachers. Personal experience are anecdotal.

    For example, I cant say
Most teachers that I know love their students more than their personal feelings. They would never put their personal distaste for something over their children's lives

Leftist in this thread think that teachers shouldn't have guns because it makes SOME teachers feel uncomfortable. If you put your personal comfort above children's lives, you have no business teaching.

There is no one-size-fits-all model to school security. Armed guards are one tool in the toolbox. Armed teachers are another tool. And each school will require a unique security solution that fits their circumstances and budget.

Why is that likely? Because you say so? Ever hear of training?

Corporations are wholly creations of government. We don't have to give them First Amendment rights.

Those who do not understand firearms and security should just step back and let the experts handle the problem.

School are already terribly underfunded. And armed security costs too much.

It would be more cost effective to arm qualified teachers

Teaching is increasingly unattractive as a job and arming teachers instead of providing security makes the job even less desirable.

You're making the job less and less attractive all the time.

Each school is unique and will require unique solutions based on their specific circumstances and budgets. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to school security.

Teachers who don't want to be armed won't be armed. Teachers who are willing and able to be armed will be armed.

Why is this so hard for you to understand?
