Small business is ****ing us too. Usually worse. Mom and Pop are as likely to watch you spend your retirement under a bridge to send their daughter to the Sorbonne as Warren Buffett is. More, in fact, Warren gives his spare money to poor people's retirement homes, Mom and Pop send your pension to Trump

My uncle, the engineer for Martin's, never took a sick day or vacation or even a day off in his life. He had an extra 5 years full pay coming to him when he retired and was able to buy the big suite with the ocean view in Boca Raton. Two years after Aunt Mary passed on he married Gwen from Germany, and I still have incest fantasies though she's never even smiled at me.

Typical toady of the rich, or self-interested rich person himself.

And the thing is we're ALL better off if everyone has to to treat everyone fairly. Problem there is that lots of rich people (and Trump is the best example of this around) LIKE ****ing people if they can and will do so even if it COSTS them money. It's not enough that they cheat you, they have to laugh about it too and they'd RATHER cheat you than deal with you honestly.

This isn't all rich people, not even the majority, but a lot of those in politics are like that.

In Europe, it's hard to sack dead wood.

In America, sounds like they've a much better system.

Anyone who disagrees, go self employed for two years and come back to the forum to apologise.

I have spent my whole life working for small businesses and have always been treated well. I draw a paycheck from them putting their whole family at risk of losing everything.
My current employer makes less than I do and I've been here less than a year. In what world is that fair?

Sorry, labor is important but not half as important as capital.

Go start a small business with your family savings. Then we will talk..
One thing i have seen is that most workers think they are worth about twice as much as they think they are.

I can't think of a better purpose for the existence of freedom than that a man or woman should be free to run their business the way they see fit. Individuals should be as sovereign in this nation as this nation is in the world. Consequently, I would never presume to dictate to my employer how to run his business in regards to me. And neither would I my Parents their home, nor my God his Kingdom. Success must be learned and discovered thru trial and error, or from obedience by mutual regard, so that the strength is thru and thru. You cannot simulate it and say it is actually real simply by virtue of the trappings. Consequently, Europe is not progress. It is a counterfeit. If that is good for them, so be it. I don't want it. I want the real thing...the genuine article.

Yes. My taxes will go towards helping those who can't afford it. It would be free for the beneficiary.

Why would I want to be taxed for something everyone has?

We want to raise the federal minimum wage. It's been the same since 2009, which, thanks to inflation, actually means federal minimum wage is even lower than it was 2009. You believe this nonsense about companies raising their prices to make up for the wage hike, but that hasn't happened anywhere else in the developed world.

Increasing the minimum wage by definition does nothing for the Middle class.
Middle class people don't make minimum wage.

It's the government's job to make sure employers don't take advantage of workers.
