Something quite notable about this election too. It's long been political granite that if you don't spend at least 90% of what your opponent does- you don't stand a chance. Trump won with 1/3 the money and 1/3 the staff- which means the old way of politics is dead. Dems damn sure don't like that, but that is the way it is. They are still unable to grasp the facts here, and clearly are desperate; they would have to be to allow the kinds of boneheads that currently claim to be candidates to use the party name or to actually sign on to some of the lunacy being proposed. Everyday, one of those fools says something so incredibly stupid and vapid that we suspect they are mentally imbalanced and have escaped confinement. Beto O'Rourke did it yesterday, big time. AOC did too. But- they are democratic "candidates" . It's a damn funny farm.

IMO, the best way to do it would be to eliminate winner-take-all states (most states currently). If all states seated electors proportional to the popular state vote, the Republicans in California and the Democrats in Alabama would have a reason to vote, and a couple of big cities wouldn't speak for an entire state.

His rights are protected just like the rest of us. His priorities are met just like the rest of us. He just happens to be part of a crowd of people with similar interests as opposed to being part of the small group of people with similar interests in the less dense areas.

Unless he is a liberal in red state or a conservative in a blue state.
Then he has no voice at all — so much so that he should waste a trip to vote.

What kind of election system actively tries to push people away from voting?

Calling Lancaster and Santa Monica the same is misleading. Los Angeles metro area is bigger than some states.

Then, if you are in a solidly blue state, don't vote.

The Senate protects against tyranny of the majority. What we have is tyranny of the minority.

Funny because states’ rights were used to impose black and gay discrimination when the ideas were unpopular.

trump couldn’t even muster the voters to beat one of the most vile smug creatures in recent memory. To represent the “minds of all Americans” he sure did come up short. Over three million minds short actually.

But hey, y’all gotta take your wins any way you can, while you can sill get em I guess

So much for all men having fair representation I guess.
You back traced quickly on that.

There is the integrity I’ve come to associate with you. Good to see it coming out!

Oh I absolutely hate him as a human being.

I disagreed with the EC before he was elected though and my points still stand. I guess you have run out of arguments. That graph must have dumped a ton of egg on your face.

    Stay classy :)

I haven't back tracked on anything. I have acknowledged that there arguments for both positions. I have heard no such concession from you.

Your odds of making a difference in a popular vote is about one in 138 million. Probably a lot less than that when you apply all the possible permutations.

Don't know if this has been mentioned....

but it is funny that Trumpsters hate California so much....

only 2 states had more votes for the Orange Fraud than California (Texas and Florida).

Democrats: claim to care about minorites, demand majority rule.

The main issue with popuar vote is that it means only cities and places with high populations have any real say. Politicians would only care about Illinois, New York, Texas, California, and other states with high populations. Smaller, less populated states would be ignored, effectively disenfranchising millions of people.

But the EC doesn't fix this problem, it just flips it around. It creates a situation where the majority has no real control. Someone can lose the popular vote by several million votes and still win the EC, meaning that the US is not actually a democracy. There is a pretense of democracy, telling people that their votes matter but in the end all that matters is who the members of the EC choose to vote for.
And the EC delegates are NOT required by law to follow the popular vote in their state.

Democrats: pin your hopes on a coalition of minorites, wail and moan when they realize the minority coalition is anti gay, anti abortion, and super religious.

California is like that rental unit I rented out to somebody, and when they left two years later, it required 10k in repairs. Appliances were broken, the walls had holes in them, the garage was filled with garbage, and the toilets had overflowed so many times that there was considerable water damage to repair.

It's not that I hate California. Hell, I love what it was. It's just going to need a lot of repairs when the lefties get evicted.

I'm sure all the Trumpsters that live in rural areas of California live like kings.

The ones I know typically do. It's beautiful country if you can make it out of the cities.

I am against any system that causes people’s votes to be erased. There will be no concession on this from me

And you know all the people in California. There are plenty of places in California that you'd think were the heart of the south.

So you're saying Trumpsters are generally well off.

    That figures, don't it.

Since affirmative action was about race, I still don't see what that has to do with what the Framers created.

None are erased. It is a function of the likelihood of it making a difference.

You said the people you know live like kings, as if that meant anything.

Oh yeah, you're a rightie, and they say a bunch of meaningless useless crap all the time.
