Melania Trump: ‘Disgraceful’ wooden statue of first lady prompts complaints in Slovenia

    The conceptual statue – which depicts Ms Trump standing in the blue outfit she wore to her husband’s inauguration in 2017 – was commissioned by US artist Brade Downey and created by artist Ales Zupevc, known as Maxi, according to ITV.

    Mr Downey reportedly did not include any instructions with his request for the artist to build the conceptual design of the first lady – except that it must feature the same dress she wore to the inauguration.

    “It doesn’t look anything like Melania,” one local told the outlet. “It’s a smurfette. It’s a disgrace.”

    Jesus, that thing is hideous.... If somebody didn't claim this was supposed to be Melanie, I'd never have guessed... It's like a female shaped Wicker Man, although twice as scary....

    That thing is almost as bad as the worst statue/rendering ever made, the bust of Ronaldo...

    But honestly, comparing Melanie to a statue isn't really much of a stretch, is it?? But if you are going to do something like that, put some freaking effort into it...

    It looks like it was left faceless by the OA, then grafitid by a troll.

    I often did faceless forms in my studies as an 'artist' because my faces all suck.

    I'm looking at the style and I can't quite place it - I figure the artist is mixing Helen Keller with a touch of Stevie Wonder.

    The article doesn't say how much they got paid, but I think Brade has a case for getting his money back.

    Heck, I feel like *I* deserve a refund after looking at that thing!

    This work of art, was clearly commissioned by the Russians! I think we should spend a Trillian tax payer dollars looking into it, provided we don't tax safety pins to pay for it.

    You got me. Seriously, that was lazy, base insults.

    I should have gone for the meat, his personality and record.

    This man lies more that any President bar none. I don't know about you, but I consider that a character flaw. He claims he is a billionaire, but in reality his debts would bring down his net worth to well below that. I don't care how much money he has, but lying about it is just another thing a charlatan would do.

    I find he has no conviction other than making himself look good. Plus what major legislation has he passed? The tax cuts. He said the economic growth would offset the lack of revenue. Newsflash: It didn't. What else is he working on? Where is an infrastructure bill he was talking about? DEMs would approve that in a heartbeat.
