Are people this uninformed about the basics of climate change that they’d fall for the rubbish in the OP?

The worst part is the ignorance is witting. The state of buried in Deep Sh*t.

People who are not to bright might buy into your analogy. Especially if you can float some credentials from one of your globalist . left wing indoctrination centers.
Concentrate.....1st you have to prove the 8 oz. glass is filled to the brim and has no capacity to take on more.

2nd, there are no variables in your analogy such as evaporation,....or even another force that periodically inserts a straw and sucks up an oz of water,
    .
3rdly , John appears, in your analogy the one who put the 8 oz. of water in the glass. In my estimation, John must be a figure responsible for the Creation of this situation. Your idea might very well be he is a creator full of confusion and chaos. You really have no idea how much water he put in the glass but that confusion gives you a chance of power over those that think the way you do based on the "fear" you purport. My idea is opposed to your idea in that John is a Creator of law and order. He is a Creator of checks and balances that offsets disturbances with other phenomena. John appreciates the "faith" that many have in him and rewards them by somehow assuring them the glass will never run out of water.

And lastly, 4thly,.....again you assume Jane is a single entity but I will purport that there is also Martha, Barbara, Coleen, and Linda. Jane represents the U.S.A. Martha-China, Barbara-India, Coleen-Russia and Linda- the EU. These are all independent entities and have no control over each other. They can add as much water as they'd like, but the ones that respect John will be responsible out of their love for Him. John knows the one that would fill the glass to over flowing and I assure you He will not allow it to happen.

Now if you will read this analogy carefully with concentration, I know you might grasp a practical, and sort of "spiritual" aspect to my account. I know it has never been a consideration on your part because it does not give you power or control over others. Instead it puts a deal of trust in "John".

On the other hand, you assert you have power and knowledge over that of which you actually have no idea! Think for a change!!

Europe just had terrible record-breaking heat waves according to the OP that means climate change is real

Oh yes....life is so terrible. I would wish another child never to be born to see "there are no longer fish in the water". If we only had wisdom we would turn our liberty over to an elite few that have complete knowledge and could therefore "dictate" to us how we should live our lives and be content only with what they allow us to have.

    NOT!!!!!!

And in the winter it just gets so unbearably cold!!! I too know that climate change is real!!! We are both real bright bulbs!!!
A couple decades ago Linda Ronstadt recorded the song "Heat Wave". That was before Algore said the seas would rise and cities would be underwater by now. Hey! I bet Linda sang that song in the summer! [IMG]

Oh... A million things need to be proven. I'm only proving one of them here. And it's that the one you brought up is idiotic.

Done! The other 999,999 (+) are smart. And are proven in scientific studies. Yours is not smart. And is disproven with an easy thought experiment which you should have done on your own before even bringing it up.

The OP needs to understand the difference between weather and climate.

From the ecofascist perspective, only one difference matters: while bad weather predictions can be falsified within a day, bad climate predictions take decades to falsify, ideally giving them time enough to institute enough draconian regulations that eventual falsification won't matter.

Not sure where you got your models, but volcanos aren't big on CO2.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the world's volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide.

Real nice dodge! You proved nothing. Your analogy was simple for your simple mind. I just showed you variables to your analogy for which you cannot account.

Why would I have to "account"? "Accounting" is what Scientists do. Look... Global Warming is settled Science. It would just be ridiculous to reopen that debate. At this point it's like debating whether the Earth is flat or round. What I did was show you how to introduce logic to the arguments you read in your pseudo-science websites. That way you won't find yourself again in the losing side the next time you see a debate between Science and Science denialists. But if you prefer raw nonsense over logic, that's your choice.

Show me the consensus that proves it is a settled science.

Consensus requires agreement by the majority of those most knowledgeable. Your link does not do that. We need something like a poll or survey that says 97% of the scientists believe that we understand climate change.

What scientists believe is irrelevant in Science. Only thing relevant is what they can prove. Science is not done by "polls". It's done by Scientific peer-reviewed studies. And 100% of peer reviewed studies done in the last 20 years are consistent with the same conclusions. 1- That Global Warming is real 2- That it is caused by Human Activity and 3- That, if left unchecked, the consequences will be dire to human civilization. That's what is called a Scientific Consensus.

You said it was settled science. It is not settled unless the vast majority believe it.

Nope! Science is not a democracy. It's settled when nature says it's settled. It is not a "belief" system. Nature doesn't care what you or anybody (even scientists) believe.

That is just about the most bizarre statement I have every heard. By the way. Nature is not saying anything. It doesn't say who is responsible or what can be done about anything. It does not make predictions. It pretty much just reacts.

Everybody thinks they know how Science works (Epistemology). And they see it as "bizarre" when they find out they actually didn't.

Epistemology is my area Well.... my professional area is I.T.. Because you can't make a living on Epistemology. But I studied it, taught it, practiced it, and it's my lifetime passion. So I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Oh yes it is. All the time. And very loudly indeed. We just need to keep out figuring out ways to make sure we're listening to it correctly.

Nature says what is happening. The scientific method allows us to correlate what nature tells us so we understand why.

It is totally absurd to consider global warming a settled science when there is no consensus among scientists.

I don't even know what that means.

Scientists' "opinions" is one of the main things that modern science strives to eliminate. It has accomplished it quite well. And progressively better as we perfect the Scientific Method. So it might sound "absurd" to anybody unfamiliar with how Science works.... but, I can assure you, it works! We have traveled to the Moon, we have harnessed the power of the atom, we have more than doubled life expectancy, ...

    Oh yeah... it works!

That was before the current politicization of science.

NO EXPERIMENTAL EVIDENCE FOR THE SIGNIFICANT ANTHROPOGENIC CLIMATE CHANGE
