You told me when your ancestors arrived and all I did was state that people generally don't consider all their ancestors, which is a fact.

Now are you claiming all possible ancestors arrived in the late 1800's, meaning all ancestors from both your mom and dad and all your grandparents, great grandparents, etc. back to the time of all of them arriving in the late 1800's? That would require at least 8 of your ancestors showing up in that short period of time.

 

Incorrect it is about a subject of which you are guilty of.

The UNCF is a type of reparations that wasn't a dumb idea.

A $1 trillion deficit tells me the government can't pay the bills of today, so I don't expect them to pay the bills for 160 years ago. Some have made the point, they didn't have ancestors in the US during slavery and the US currently has 22 million citizens who were born in a foreign country. I think the point is rather mute, because by far the vast majority of the people in the country didn't have anything to do with having slaves in the US in their past ancestry.

If the Republicans weren't so busy straining their limited brains to come up with the next lie, they could have stumbled on an obvious counterpoint to Kamala Harris. Based on all the evidence I've seen, Kamala Harris is Black and so was Barack Obama, but I haven't seen any evidence suggesting either of them had ancestors as slaves in the US. This is important, because who should get the reparations, someone who is Black or someone who had ancestors who were slaves? It's reasonable most of the Blacks we see did have ancestors who were slaves in the US, but not all.

In practical terms, reparations would mean the future has to pay the present for the past.

Slavery ended with the Civil War, when more Americans died than all the other wars combined. That was a hell of a price to pay.

Take a deep breath: reparations will never happen. We're in the silly season with pols grandstanding over grievances and freebies. Harris is desperate to get traction with black voters and Joe Biden is in her way.

The top three Democrats are white folks and that tells you where the party is at this time around.

What in the hell is wrong with people? We have Democrats promising to forgive all college debt, pay reparations to black people, create a green economy without cutting growth, and on and on. Trump promised to fix healthcare fast, cut taxes for everyone but rich people, and stop drug companies from ripping us off. Why do people believe this sh't?

 

Sure, it is. Trump said he wouldn't cut taxes for rich people and then signed legislation giving 85% of the cuts to people making more than $400,000. If he had left taxes where they were for people making $400,000, we could have had tax cuts about six times higher than they were for everyone else. Why on earth would we cut taxes for people making $400,000? Are they going to move to some other country?

You wouldn't be pretending Democratic primaries are "fixed" and Republican primaries are open and fair, would you?

You don't get it. You can't just shed reparations, either you support it or you don't. There is no middle ground. Either its proof of shilling for black votes if abandoned, or a certainly that whites will stay home on election day if supported. Perhaps in the past it could have been skimmed over, but not now, especially with Trump...

What part of the Constitution forbids reparations? Why were the Japanese able to receive reparations for their internment during WW2 if it was forbidden by the Constitution?
