Black family racially profiled while visiting Nike store in Santa Monica

Oprah is clearly not a hippie or a teenager and she was well dressed. So, why was she profiled?

Well, I had to google it as I never heard the story.

First off, this happened in Switzerland.

Second, the purse was so expensive that it was behind a locked case. According to the sales lady that tried to "discourage" Oprah, because of the bag's price, they never had anybody ask to even look at it before. The even eventually hid the price because the store was embarrassed it was so high and they pretty much considered it as a "display item". The sales lady said she was embarrassed by the price and tried to steer Oprah (not knowing she was Oprah) to a similar bag that was less expensive. The sales lady said she was trying to protect her client from disappointment when she saw how expensive the bag was.

Some hippies were hard core drug addicts.
Manson's family was hippies.
I was a veggie and practicing Buddhist.
But regardless that was almost 50 years ago.

I have been around a lot of "hippies" in my life. Not all of them think in a hive-like fashion. Maybe it is your perception as to what a hippie should be that is the issue here.

The other workers who waved goodbye to the family didn't accuse them of anything. It's a sure bet that one of them worked at the register too and took the money for the ball. Sorry, "whites have to show receipts" isn't a good excuse.

I don't know. Maybe it is the store's policy that the manager is the only one that "accuses" people.

So, let me ask you. What proof is there....other than the customer was black...that this was racially motivated? I'm not saying it was not, but just because the customer is black is not proof that it was.

 

Having been to Santa Monica, I suspect this was a case of financial elitism rather than racism. Santa Monica is one of the most yuppy-ish places I ever been.

My negative view of blacks? You're the one who clearly stated the blacks were profiled but won't tell us what that profile is. Like I said last night while you were being owned, if the profile was that blacks are high IQ physicists you never would have said they were profiled because it would not apply. You know damn well what you meant when you said they were profiled and once you were called out on it you danced, deflected and then tried to blame everyone as being a racist which is odd since YOU said they had a profile and implied it was negative.

And like I also said last night, you only pop up on this board when you think you can hammer whites and make out blacks to be nothing more than victims. Just look at your post history for yesterday and today.

So when are you going to tell us what the profile is for black people? You, yes you, not someone else, but YOU said they were profiled. So either tell us what that profile is or admit your accusations are clueless and/or the purpose of creating this thread was to race bait.
