That sounds like pro-Trump propaganda to my ear. I don't think the US is Iran's primary focus in doing this. We tend to overestimate our own importance when considering world affairs. However, I think that Iran is banking on Trump not wanting to bomb them. Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he isn't one to take military action. He is all bark and no bite, and he only barks from the safe confines of the US borders (he won't even stand up to a foreign dictator in person).
As you may have noticed, ISIS (Obama's JV Team) was defeated or lets say ISIS no longer has a state. Islamic State Iraq Syria. How did Trump accomplished that and Obama couldn't ? President Trump doesn't micromanage the military like how Obama did with his PC rules of engagement that favored the enemy and caused American troops to bleed and die in the name of political correctness. When it comes to the military, Trump is allowing the warriors and generals and admirals to call the shots.
The Brits like the USA are members of NATO. Seizing a ship on the high seas is an act of war. NATO was always asking what was their mission since there were no longer any Soviets to kill ? It's PUTIN who is having a problem with Iran going rouge again.
It was a team effort, and accomplished by our outstanding military more than any president approving or not approving suggestions from far more competent generals. By illegally taking their boat, apparently for the US, Britain invited Iran to do this and now Hunt is acting as if we have been wronged. One law for us another for them. There were no Brits on the boats and everyone seems well. I think Iran was just letting Britain know what it was like to have people committing acts of piracy though it appears there may have been minor transgressions on the boats. Britain knows now if it gets the idea to indulge in piracy again, so will Iran.
At some point, Iran is going to go too far and there will be weapons exchange. At that point it wont matter who did what anymore as whatever is left of the Iranian aggressor will be considered fair play.

Despite reports and remarks from UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt that the Mesdar had been detained by Iran, regional military officials have indicated that the vessel was never seized by Iran, rather it was let off with a warning after reportedly disobeying regulations. "Despite reports, the ship has not been seized ... and was allowed to continue its course after being warned about safety issues by Iranian forces," Tasnim's report reads. According to the Fars News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had issued warnings to the oil tanker over its adherence to safe navigation practices and environmental standards. Moments prior, Hunt had indicated in a statement that the Mesdar had been seized in the Strait of Hormuz following reports that the Stena Impero had been detained. "These seizures are unacceptable," Hunt said before noting that he was "extremely concerned." Owner Norbulk Shipping UK later clarified, saying the Mesdar had been boarded by armed personnel at approximately 5:30 p.m. British Summer Time (GMT+1), but that the personnel had departed without incident. Norbulk said the vessel is now "free to continue its voyage" and that its crew are safe and well.

I think the whatever ships our navy has over there should protect all the other ships passing through the straight until the navies from the impacted countries arrive. Regarding the captured ships, this is not a US deal just yet, it's a problem for the Brits. Let them take whatever action they want while we completely support them and have their backs. But unless we are fired upon, not a single US ship or plane should fire a single shot. If Iran shoots at one of our ships or planes then all bets are off and they have to live with the consequences.

Fair enough. I can agree with that. But I don't think we should attack Iran because they did something to another country. We should only retaliate if they attack us. What do think about that notion?
IMO the west should crank up the trade sanctions ever tighter in the hope that Iran will finally get the message and possibly their people may finally revolt with help from the west (unlike the "do nothing" Barack Obama) against the Islamist rulers of Iran. These are British ships but very strong allies of the US and very strong allies of many other nations. There should be no form of ransom paid for the release of the ships and sailors as well.
