So you changed your mind on people having control over what happens to their own bodies? If someone wants you wet, just take it!!!

Some people, in some neighborhoods, are animals.

And then the people in those neighborhoods wonder why no one wants to go there and why their property values are so low.

Not only do the Republicans glorify traitors who have slaughtered 100s of thousands of Americans because they wanted to keep human slaves, even now Republicans vilifying a POW veteran by a draft dodger.

These "Patriotic" and "Good Americans" Republicans today are neither.

Seems fairly obvious which areas cops
should just stay away from, since the people
Don’t want them there. I say give them all what they want.

The problem with these sorts of threads, is that nothing liberals/ progressives post is going to be believed unless it fits the RW stereotype of who we are. If it can be twisted, then it gets twisted, If liberals don't post, it shows indifference, so all we are left with is dark humor which shows callousness.

So there is really nothing to be done in these threads except read the story in the Op, shake our heads, and move on.

I understand your problem. It's the same one that conservatives have when someone posts credible information about American misbehavior (to use a mild term) in Iraq or Afghanistan, or genuine racist police behavior, or more or less any business practice of Mr Trump.

It's not that we necessarily support it -- although no doubt you can find some people who call themselves conservatives who would endorse torture or callous behavior towards civilians or outright racism -- it's that (1) we aren't sure the whole story is being told, and we don't trust the sources offered us, but (2) we don't want to undertake the open-ended job of getting to the whole truth, because (3) there is probably something to it and we would rather not think about it because (4) in context, the behavior being highlighted is not representative of what we believe in, but is being used to attack, not just the misbehavior, but the good things too.

In a highly polarized tribal situation like an online debate forum, you're going to have to look pretty hard to find people who are willing to concede a point, to admit that 'their side' has its maniacs and even criminals, to appear to accept something that the other side has asserted. Not human nature.

So we just remain silent, as you do. But everyone should understand that silence is not consent or agreement, on either side.

I remember a day that police used this same thinking in Alabama and other southern states. Except they used fire hoses.

No, I posted "":) It's HOT in New York and the officers just needed to cool off...""

It was in English, was there a problem??

Your desperate need to have me say something else is a joke just like my attempt at humor in that post..

Yeap I agree, look the way I see it is that if cops act out of hand we punish them and the same with citizens regardless of color. Cops should respect the people and vice versa.

I have no answer why the Democratic party Taliban hasn't toppled the monument honoring an American war hero and Americas first traitor...Benedict Arnold.

I think you misunderstood his point.

Let's put it another way - suppose that the story involved women leaving an abortion clinic on a very hot day who were then pelted with water by anti-abortion activists. A poster remarks that it was hot and those ladies needed to cool off. I doubt you'd see the humor in that post, in fact, I daresay you'd be clamoring for assault charges against the people doing so, something you'd be correct in doing. You'd certainly not be particularly friendly towards any posters who found it funny.

You ought to be feeling the same kind of outrage regarding how these cops are being treated.

These pillars of the community were no doubt on their way home from work, college, or the nearest astronaut training center when they decided to just have a little summer fun. Whats the issue?

First YOU can' tell me how to feel....see, you aren't mommy or god.....( and even they can't tell me how to feel. :) )

How's this: I doubt you would be feeling the same kind of outrage regarding how abortion clinic patients were being treated.

Second, I feel nothing for those poor little helpless weak defenseless, frightened snowflake cops....

I'm glad we agree on that!

You are aware I'm perfectly fine with abortion, correct? Heck, I think MORE women should be getting the procedure done. I'm just not okay with it being funded by taxpayer dollars is all. And I have a general sense of outrage against anyone being assaulted without cause. Maybe that's because I see it on a weekly basis and against good AND bad kids, I dunno. Your mileage may vary.

You ought to be proud of them, actually. These same armed individuals did NOT go crazy on these punks. I rather doubt you or many others here would have shown the same restraint against someone pelting you with water like that.

I'm also perfectly fine withe the police severely reducing their presence in the area. If those guys wanna act like savages, let 'em police themselves.

Or you can condemn the reprehensible actions of the water-hurlers and applaud the restraint of the officer.
