    http://www.uawire.org/russian-forei...inst-putting-missile-defense-systems-in-space

Oh my....Russki FM Laughrov warning US about putting missile defenses in space.....and if we do.....what will Moskolia do....stomp their feet, pop some veins, send an angry tweet?:))

But on the flipside....vatniks issuing warnings is probably a good thing....which probably means they're lagging behind, considering their taxirides to the ISS could be obsolete in the future with outfits like SpaceX ferrying rides now.

i feel sorry for the average American when i read your post, feels like a highschool bully who can barely write,

but regardless putting weapons in space just shows US agressive nature since thats a obvious first strike weapon vs other major powers(your not going to need it vs iran or yemen)

and just another attempt to steal taxpayers money for the military industrial complex if you ask me, no wonder you guys spend asmuch as the rest combined and growing

Pooh poohing weapons in space in some mindless effort to make fun of Russia is beyond pathological. If we did put weapons in space we may well do so using Russian Rockets.
    http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/P...ssian_Rocket_Engines_Until_Mid_2020s_999.html

Even if the US does manage to find an alternative sooner - how does this stop the Russians from using their own rockets ?

Only a person who does not care about ramping up the arms race to epic proportions could make a post such as the above. Simply put it is crazy talk.

Right now it takes 30 minutes for a nuke to get here from Russia. It would not make me sleep better at night having a Russian nuke above my head - 30 seconds away.

You "feel sorry" for the average American?....I'm sure you do.

If it's the other way around the vatniks would gladly do do even gloat about it.

The Russkis aren't happy about it....? Tough for them. Maybe they should look in the mirror why they have no "allies" or so called friends. But they never do.

Sooner or later space will be weaponized.
We might as well just jump into it.

We are very far away from actual nukes being in space. Once it’s in space everyone knows where it is and it could be easily shot down.

Lavrov talks about anti-missile Defence based in space and satellites armed with lasers to take down other satellites.
So, you can sleep well, Boris.

This is right in time with all nuke agreements with Russia. They are about to retire a massive amount of their warheads. It seems to me they’ll replace them with cartoons and lack of agreement will help Pootin conceal the quantity of weapons allowing to extremely over exaggerate to feed residents of paRussia with fresh and pretty lies.

The "Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies" covers it pretty well. The treaty's main point is that it prohibits the placing of nuclear weapons in space, mainly in orbit.

It does not ban military activities within space, or the weaponization of space, with the exception of the placement of weapons of mass destruction in space. Interception systems in space would be allowed. That's not a "obvious first strike weapon", far from it. It's defensive weapon, and the Russian Defense Minister knows that.

We are not that far from nukes in space .. obviously we have the capability - both the US, Russia and numerous other nations. Russia is not going to stand by and watch while the US destabilizes nuclear detente - they will take counter measures - and nukes in space is one of those counter measures .. one that was cited by the Russians.

Just as nukes in space be shot down - so can anti- missile defense in space. Having another arms race is not what we need.

Never heard of SpaceX using Russian rockets. Russians are used only for human space flight. And not for too long.

Out of 11 launch systems the US presently uses only 2 use RD-180 (which we actually have the right to build on our own).
Claiming that we rely on paRussia is extreme distortion of reality.

Read the link - SpaceX is not the only rockets we used .. and Russian rockets are not only used for human space flight. You are talking out your backside.

Again, out of 11 space launch systems the US currently uses, only2 use Russian engines. And that’s not even for all stages.

link ? You know - like the one I provided stating we will be using Russian rockets until at least halfway through the next decade.

That we use non Russia rockets is a rather recent development .. That alone should tell you something.

    https://spaceflightnow.com/2019/07/04/russian-soyuz-launcher-set-to-carry-33-satellites-into-orbit/

Note the date .. July 2019. So much for your nonsense claim
As is so often the case - you have no clue what you are talking about but you yammer on in a condescending way as if you do have a clue.

And the next chapter in the book of American ignorance, arrogance, overconfidence and stupidity with which the US moves in the world, especially since Trump!

That the US does not give a damn about any international and bilateral agreements and treaties with Donald Dumbass at the White House and hates the UN ... which was once born by the US ... since then, not as a tool for US interests can be abused ... that goes on and on.

Yes ... make America great again ... in the end it's Maerica alone again and United States stands for Uniportant States of America! You really have a great president and followers of him!

    Here is the list:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_rockets

Of those only Antares and Atlas V use russian RD-180, RD-181 engines.

You don’t hear about other launchers because they are pretty routine and common - press doesn’t report on every launch of a communications, navigation or spy satellite which happen from the US soil pretty frequently.

ISS is not the only destination in space, Boris. ;) Your claim that we rely on Russian engines and can’t access space without them was proven false.

They evidently do not know about the Air Forces reusable reentry vehicles which circumnavigate the globe years at a time and are unmanned...
