I think that trump is goading the deplorables to commit more acts of mindless violence with his demagoguery.
He's also packing the courts with racist white nationalist judges and likely following putin's orders in pulling the US out of the INF treaty to give cover for putin's arms buildup agenda.

Using the Mother Jones criteria those two family shootings don't actually count as 'mass shootings' because they only count events in public places. People wiping out their families at home don't get counted. That undoubtedly lowers the US figures, but it also means that since Port Arthur the only mass shooting we have had that can be compared to those figures is the 4 dead in Darwin this year.

For me that is still one too many, but it is impressive given where we were in the 80s & 90s.

 

Sanity is to realize that 29(!) people have now died over two days in the Unites States in two mass-shootings. (Assuming Sunday's shooting death-toll of 9 is minimally correct.)

Innocent people who went out shopping or otherwise enjoyed their weekend.

Had these 29 people lived in any country other than the US there is every chance they would still be alive on this Sunday.

Or at least they would not have died in a barrage of gunfire.

Sanity is to realize that gun-laws work to keep citizens safe.

We don't hear about these mass shootings, on a regular basis, in other countries, do we?

That's because most countries in the world are doing something right when it comes to the laws of gun-control.

Sanity is for US laws to follow suit. Now!

So, that's 80.233(!!) gun-related deaths in the United States over the last 6 years. And 2019 is only just half over.
That number would have totally wiped out the average population of a local community in my country. (The Netherlands.)
Even a nuclear bomb couldn't have done a better job...

Australia bought back 650,000 guns, America has between 350 and 400 MILLION. If the United States pays me EXACTLY what I purchased my Guns for and guarantee's that a Criminal with a Gun won't be able to break into my home with a Gun and Kill me, I'll sell um back in a Heartbeat. Guess What, that ain't gonna happen, so my Guns are secure in my safe.
