I admire your excellent rationalism-based culture.
I admire your unparalleled achievements in thoughts, arts, literature, science, and technologies.
Your political system brought liberty, democracy, and human rights to so many places.

Of course, you have made mistakes, everybody does. But that doesn't affect the fact that you are excellent people. This sense of guilt forced upon you is groundless and unjust.
Being proud of being white doesn't mean looking down on other races.

I have long thought it silly to be proud of your sexuality. You didn't do anything. You were just born as or developed as your sexuality.

I'm proud of my national/regional culture (customs like arts, language, religion, food etc.), but there is no reason to be proud of my blood (genealogy not offspring which you can be proud of if they get good grades in school) let alone my pigmentation. So albinos born from black people should be proud of being white? Am I allowed to be proud of having a white father or is that pride reserved for people who are not mongrels like me?

Lolz ... "white" is the LW favorite code word. Nationalism isn't an exclusively causasian ideology. You'll find nationalism all over the world, and in our own backyard we have black, as well as white nationalism. Louis Farrakhan in a tour de force mustered a million demonstraters on the national mall. Not all of them were necessarily black nationalists, but I'd likely 100's of 1000's were. Nationalists aren't the problem. Violence in the name of nationalism is the problem.

”White” isn’t a culture (not is “black” for that matter). None of the things you list are specifically related to skin colour. The dominance of people from certain parts of the world in wider cultural and technological development is more a function of geography and quirks of history, not the colour of the peoples involved.

No it isn’t. Nationalism is supporting your nation over and above any other. Putting a skin colour in front of it generally suggests only people of that skin colour should be recognises as being part of that nation, or at least should be the dominate influence. That doesn’t automatically mean saying people of that skin colour are superior to any others but it’s a common element in practice.

I agree that the European Enlightenment and the move away from religious to secular ideas propelled our notions of personal liberty, human rights and democracy, and I find them superior to the totalitarian and tribal notions that historically dominated and still do in many parts of the world.
But it's ignorant nonsense to claim that white Europeans created the modern world without building on the achievements of many cultures and benefitting from the resources and labor of their colonial subjects to fuel their progress.

tell me, as in U.S.A, what did American Indians contribute to the modern world? What achievements can we point too? As far resources go, land, land isn't owned by anyone just because you get somewhere before the other person. American Indians didn't own any land, they also killed each other for land and took land by force. No-one owns the planet's resources unless you stump your foot and are able to enforce it via force. There is no natural law that makes men natural birthright owners of any resources, it is all via force, whether directly or indirectly. So, i ask, who's culture or resources did europeans build upon as they built this great Country?

btw, slavery was abolished thanks to white people and all the civil rights actions, thanks to white people. All these black activists we talk about played a role but with only 8-13% of the population, blacks would still be slaves if it weren't for white people recognizing past mistakes and making amends. MLK, Rosa parks didn't do squat by themselves, it was white people who actually set things in motion.

and btw, all this talk about American indians or blacks being innocent races, just exploited. American indians murdered white people, massacred them too, scalped quite a bit of white scalps. Blacks in Africa were largely to blame for slave trade, yeah, black tribal leaders had black slaves before Europeans had them in America and it was them (blacks) who sold black slaves to whites for profit. Look around, not all races are innocent or evil, there is enough to go around here. Tired of all this stupidity of whites being the bad ones.

 

Whites are superior, followed close by Asians. That doesn’t mean we hate non whites. All you have to do is look at human history. The vast vast majority of remarkable inventions were brought to you by whites, also the vast majority of heinous inventions also, like nuclear weapons, but remarkable none the less. Take blacks in Africa for example. No great society, no big cities, no sewer system. It wasn’t until Africa was colonized by the British that the first two story house was built, before that it was mud and wood. On a continent with many centuries and resources yet nothing. Blacks have advanced themselves more in America than any other time and place in history, far more than in their own motherland, but that is a good thing.
Without whites, the world wouldn’t be nearly as advanced as it is today. I imagine we would still be running down dinner with pointy sticks.

That’s not to say we down own our share of dregs. Every person holding a cardboard sign on an off ramp is white, mass murderers are mostly white, and so on. Any place that is not dominated by whites or Asians is third world.
