People love to die for their favorite cause. It makes them feel special.

The study says the Philistines originated in Europe.

Of course they interbred. But the topic is about archaeological evidence for stories in the Bible. The study of Philistine DNA is archaeological evidence for one story in the Bible.

Some biblical stories are myths, some are history, some are both.

Do we need archaeological evidence for the Philistines. They are recorded in various histories - especially the Egyptian. But the Bible does not give them credit for their culture. Neither do the Egyptians. I don't think anyone ever doubted the existence of this people.

They don't knowingly die for a lie.

It isn't about their existence, but that the Bible's specific reporting of where they came from is accurate. That wasn't verified (not that it needed to be) until recent archaeological discoveries.

The same way we know any other historical figure existed. Is this the same stunt as arguing Jesus never existed? Amazing it is 2,019 years after the birth of someone skeptics say didn't exist.

If you look back you will see that I have said that the Bible is confirmed in some cases and dismissed in others,. by archaeology. Some events in the Bible are also confirmed by history recorded by other nations.

So @Bowerbird, since you've evidently bought into Jonsa's drivel, perhaps you'd like to make the case that prokaryotes are non-DNA based organisms, or that all eukaryotes are multicellular.

Nobody is saying the bible is completely historically inaccurate obviously. The bible talks about Romans and we know Romans are real. Just because a lot of the bible is historically accurate, doesn't mean there aren't parts that are inaccurate. The flood, the garden of eden, the exodus, and Jesus are some of the things some people debate about. To refute the people who say the bible is historically inaccurate, you will need ask them for their examples and evidence and refute that. If they don't have any good examples and evidence, then your job is really easy.
