For a guy who lines his pockets with emoluments and steals from the American public, Trump is doing a lousy job of it.

And how much taxpayer money did he funnel into his businesses during the same period?

Uh DUH, he's buying them , buying control and influence...and that is NOT good...

And, do you realize how little 100 grand is to a (alleged) billionaire?

Do you realize it's a tax write off?

Truly philanthropic people - those who give from the heart - don't publicize their 'generosity'.

The TDS in this thread is epic.

Folks are actually bashing Trump for donating money!

I don't know a charity or organization on earth that wouldn't love a $100k donation.

If anyone else, no matter how wealthy, donated $100k would you folks belittle the donation? or dismiss the generosity just because the donor got a tax deduction? Yeah, I didn't think so.

But it's Trump, so even when he donates $100k he's still the bad guy, in the minds of some of you.

    Insane.

If Trump cured cancer you people would b*tch that he put doctors out of business.

Trump does not work for free, his golf trips and all that go to Trump businesses, he is profiting more off the taxpayers then any other President has

now have Trump give all that money to charrity, then you can claim he works for free

Yeah, using the office of the Presidency to line your pockets is a pretty decent reason to hate a politician...

    Always used to be, anyway...

Likely...he is a brilliant with investments.

With that said, kudos to the president for continuing to honor his pledge to work for America for free and give back to our federal govt!

we do not even know if he really did this, we do know he is taking more money from being President then he is donating - but without seeing all his taxes, no way to know

last I heard he has not paid el-paso their 500k yet, not even after the tradgey - he is still stiffing them

"Trump campaign still owes El Paso more than $500,000 on eve of President's return visit"

he is not working for free, he charges the tax payers millions everytime he visits his golf course

Trump is a con man, look over here, I am so generous, while packing his pockets with tax payer money over there

"Here’s How Much Trump’s Golf Trips Have Cost Taxpayers"

    https://www.theroot.com/heres-how-much-trumps-golf-trips-have-cost-taxpayers-1836358002

"Forbes notes that Trump’s golf outings have cost taxpayers some $105 million and if he keeps it up at this pace it could cost taxpayers over $340 million."

His salary is a fraction of what he spends on golf. He is making a fortune selling out the office and renting his hotels out to foreign representatives.

So he gives the government what, to him, is pocket change and you talk about how wonderfully patriotic he is. How much did you and I along with the rest of the American tax payers pay for his 4th of July farce? Give me a F****** break. Wake up and smell the roses for christ sake.

Trump charges you $7.95/hour to smell the roses, so don't mess around... Smell, and get out...

I am sure that the amount he is paid as President is not a great deal of money to him. In fact, Presidential pay is more symbolic than anything else any more and it has been for quite awhile. For instance, I have no doubt Obama is much wealthier now than when he first took office and his wealth was not garnered from his Presidential pay or "smart investments". I think it is a good precedence for a President to "donate" their symbolic Presidential pay in what is really just a symbolic gesture. No other President has ever done this before that I remember....even though they did not need the Presidential pay they received.

Except we still don't know how much taxpayer money he is directing into his own businesses. I would give him credit if he took the salary but committed that none of his businesses would take a dime in federal government money - or money from any foreign government - during his tenure as president.
