Since Obama is fabulously wealthy even though he rails against the rich, the least he could do would be to give his presidential pension worth $207,800 per year back to the American taxpayer.

So you hate Trump more than you love your country. Quelle surprise....if Democrats try that, they will NEVER win the presidency anytime soon. I am counting on the House to return to Republican leadership. You people have NO clue how sick and tired normal people are of the whining, childish, imbecilic, loony Democrats. You think people LIKE the sick crap they're pulling? I'd say "think again" but we know they do NOT think...

Well, at least the Clinton Foundation is a valid charity, unlike the office of the Surgeon General, where he donated this paycheck, which is NOT a charity..

But it still seems like a good place to donate money to... I'm cool with it.

I hope his investments made money.

Why don’t you like Americans making money?

I have no problem with Americans making money. I have a big problem with elected politicians directing taxpayer money into their own pockets. Don't you? That's kind of the definition of the swamp.

You bring up a good point.

The office of the Surgeon General is likely not a charity.

To get a tax deduction I believe you have to donate to either a 501(c)(3) or a 170(c).

Trump may not even be getting any tax deduction for this donation. That would take the air out of that particular attack.

Although attacking the donation at all seems mindboggling. If someone donates $1 or $100K to you, you say "thank you", you don't say "that's not enough" or "whatever, you only did it for the tax deduction".

How much taxpayer money did they direct into their own pockets other than through their salaries?

Good point. Since he is not donating to a registered charity, I wonder if he will get a tax deduction. Not that these kinds of numbers matter to him.

What matters more is the taxpayer money he is funnelling into his businesses.

How is that related to donating his salary?

    ^^^ TDS on full display.

Dude is losing money while President. You are thinking of Clinton and Obama that got incredibly wealthy off their presidencies. Again, the thread is about Trump donating his salary.

    ^^^ Agree on TDS

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trum...-big-bucks-from-his-presidency-185014927.html

He may not be making as much money as a private citizen (lawsuits pending to find out), but he certainly isn't "loosing" money...

what would you like me to prove?

That people deduct charitable donations from their taxes?

Would you also like to to prove water is wet and the sky is blue?

I guess the office of the surgeon general is short of operating dough what with the increase in spending the Trump conservatives enjoy...

He should send it to the victims of the mass shooting he instigated.

There is none - - yet. You can bet Israel, Russia along with the Saudi's are taking good care of their puppet. Then we have to give a lot of consideration to the NRA, his hotels, golf courses and private clubs. He's selling out America and he's such a smart businessman I'm sure he's not doing it for nothing.

Thats nice but donating $100,000 isn't a big deal if you have 5 billion dollars.

Maybe you can't but I just did.

BUT, now that you've caused me to think about it; double check how the initiation fee at Mar-a-Lago went from 100K to 200K when trump became president.
