Early days, but her potential to join Statesmen is far greater than Mundane Morrison.

Here's Turnbull on the whole saga vvv

    https://www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...on-shock-jock-alan-jones-20190816-p52hz8.html

So you can say this to a male PM but not a female PM, how can women even begin to expect equality when they are so fragile. And how does this encourage husbands to start beating their wives... it's absurd.

Jones should be able to give his political criticism without being "labelled" around every corner because his target happens to be female or gay or black RACIST! or MISOGYNIST! or ISLAMOPHOBE!... GAYPHOBE!... it's politics they need to toughen up.

Perhaps he ought stick to political criticism yes, and not engage in suggestions about female PMs being put in a chaff bag/drowned, and have a sock shoved down their throat.

oh no... poor little Jacinda... I'm sure all the husbands will now also beat up their wives

Jones have always been very harsh on everyone... but clearly he'll need to be careful with the fragile girly pm.

There is nothing fragile about her. She is not bleating. Morrison is and he is right. Jones is a prick. Deliberately tosses these smoke grenades for smoke effect.

Yes that he is, but just because he 's a prick doesn't make him a misogynist and and advocate for domestic violence.

Poor Jacinda. She has her problems at the moment.
    Just like Canada.
Maybe Australians are reaping their reward for some transgression or another.

This is the moment for Australian unity.
    Provided by New Zealand.

While :flagus: is doing the same to Greenland.
    Better to contain :flagcanada: hegemony.

Now WHO is gonna complain about which first or
    even do anything about its.
China is constructing its own sphere. Russia? The E.U. :roflol:

Together, Australia and :flagus: move forward.
    Not backward.
    Not side step, forward!
    And onward too.

Jacinda's climate change comments on Australia and her naïveté on what is going on in the background Pacific politics ito China have now left Scott Morrison with a big problem. In the past New Zealand and Australia would support one another on these issues, clearly the Pacific is gunning for Australia to reduce coal dependency for power (we all know how that went in South Australia). Indeed she assisted China to push Australia further away from the Pacific.

Australia 'worst of two evils' over China

    https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/6334920/australia-worst-of-two-evils-over-china/?cs=14264

The 500 million gifted to them clearly didn't matter, also the fact that even if Australia uses zero coal fired energy the waterline would not shift 1mm. It is indeed the larger economies like China, the US who are the bigger offenders and without their support nothing we do will make much of a difference... except probably tank our economy, increase our energy bills, increase our mortgage defaults, job losses.

Four corners has the uncanny ability to shine a spot on nasty and or greedy behaviour.

This is Chinese bought poor quality building materials, the entire world have been flooded with this garbage and likely many high-rise buildings that have been built in the last 15-20 years will likely only last 25 - 30 years... China's ghost cities are largely uninhabitable because of toxic fumes.

This is not capitalism... it is pure and simple greed and exploitation. In good capitalist societies government act to prevent this from happening, our government slipped up, but is still ahead of the curve since many other countries have up to now done nothing

The problem is I think up to 70% of our high rise buildings have been built during this time period...it's a big number anyway.

Chinese drywall smells, may give off toxic fumes

Defence wants to roll out military tech in Antarctica despite Treaty ban on military activity
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-08-19/australia-antarctica-military-dual-use-technology/11427226

yes dammit get it done. I would like to see Australia be more pro-active, not re-active when it comes to the Antarctic, I think it is very obvious that what China have planned in the Arctic will also be planned for the South.

How sad..you can't see the threat China poses to the Australia we have now. The Australia I want is merely the same Australia we have now.

Tell me... do you like Australia as it is now? Do you want it to stay this way? I 100% do.

Look at how China is overdeveloping in and outside China, look at their plans for the Arctic then reconsider that we should sit back and just let it happen in the Ant-arctic which we btw lay claim on... not China.

ps. I'll add that I find it concerning when people attack capitalism when in essence something is actually greed and exploitation. Effectively trying to paint capitalism as greed and exploitation is attacking the cornerstone our Democracy function on... it is an attack on self.

There is a world wide push for liberal socialism (By George Soros and the Clintons). Liberal socialism have made a seamless transformation into communism in South Africa. This is of great concern because it means there is not much difference between the two.

I am a capitalist, and I would never sell someone toxic drywall and inferior building products just so I can drive a fancy car. The problem is ethics and morals and lax enforcement of government regulations already in place.

    Our dopey PM.

Australia will send a warship, surveillance aircraft and Defence Force personnel to the Persian Gulf to join an international effort to combat Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz.

    • The US States is leading military efforts to protect shipping routes in the Persian Gulf
    • Australia has spent weeks deciding to join
    • Scott Morrison said it was in Australia's interest to ensure oil tankers could move freely

    A new Monty Python episode.

Australia's attempt to deport a convicted criminal to Papua New Guinea (PNG) has failed after authorities there decided to send him back.
    • Gus Kuster moved to Australia at the age of three
    • He served time in prison for drug and driving-related offences
    • His failed deportation landed him back in immigration detention in Brisbane

Here is Jacinda's response to Jones... she delivered it well and handled it much better than Turnbull. Scott Morrison however now is facing a growing problem since Jacinda kicked open the door for China and they are not wasting the opportunity, they are laying into Australia

The fire report as of 1 day ago.

As the east coast burns, it seems to spare Victoria.
    :hmm:

And why that southwest "hot spot"?

    Moi of Southern California.
I've Seen Wildfires and favor grazing as a solution.
We could do goats, cattle, etc.
What could you guys graze? What sort of 'roo?

the Victorian coast is a wetter area.
Some favour the aboriginal land management methods of regular burning off of scrub. This reduces the fuel for fires, and takes the heat out of them.
SW Western Australia has had a fire in June. Must be very dry.
