The poll clearly establishes that a majority of republicans believe that teaching assistants (together with the rest of the faculty) of physical chemistry brainwashing the students with ultra-leftist ideas and suppressing alternative views is not good for the state of the union. Unfortunately this brainwashing is exactly what's going on on an overwhelming majority of campuses and is undeniable and IS indeed bad for the country
An intellectually dishonest teaching assistant who brainwashes students with ultra-leftist views attempted to cast poll results as republicans are against higher-education... which is utter garbage and fake news ;)

(Shrug) Universities have essentially become propaganda camps for the Left since the Left is mostly in control of education in this nation; and that is what GOPers object to. When children and young adults are taught to disdain the very things that made this nation great then there is a problem. In truth, however, it's the GOP itself that is the problem since it pretty much handed the Left the entire educational system starting in the 1960s. The GOP was simply more interested in getting ahead than in educating future generations. The Left gleefully rubbed its hands together and proceeded to indoctrinate the next several generations. So . . . it . . . goes.

My kid was too busy getting a real degree to be caught up in the progressive brainwashing.

It's easily enough ignored by kids whose minds haven't been softened-up at home and made susceptible to the PC disease.

They do go to college to be a closed minded racists. Look at what they are doing to the Asians and Whites students and actually believe that it's ok.

Asian and White have a less than 10% of getting into medical school with the same grade that a black person can get in at 56%

Yet, despite this only 7.7% of Medical School Students are African American, while they represent 12% of the population. Clearly, there is a large disparity.

In any case, this is not a thread about affirmative action and its pros and cons, it is a thread about the poor opinion of the majority of Republicans of higher education.

Our friend Starjet said in an earlier post that no self-respecting man hires an electrician or plumber to change an outlet or fix a faucet. Hence.....

    Yeah, but it's not.

It's a thread about a misleading headline meant to send the message that Republicans have a low opinion of higher education, when the truth is really that Republicans have a low opinion of the widespread liberal ideology indoctrination on college campuses.

The trick is to read past the headlines, and the thread titles.

The topic is actually Republicans and their poor opinion of liberal indoctrination and useless degrees (and the money spent on these useless degrees, which some Democrats now want taxpayers to pay for.)

The rest is your spin. This has been explained to you ad nauseum since the very first page, and yet you continue with your false narrative. #fakenews called and said "congratulations" ;)

There are still "Republican kids" going to college, but I suspect they're much more likely to go to college to get desirable degrees in in-demand fields which will insure good paying jobs and sound futures. They aren't the kids in the classes about "white privilege", "oppression", "trigger words", or "Beyonce", and they're not choosing "X" for gender on their admissions paperwork either.

The only disconnect seems to be your misinterpretation of the poll, and the attack on Republicans which you spun based on your misinterpretation.

@Borat and @Creasy Tvedt explain it in more detail for you, if this helps....

    What they said ^

University is good only if you study something worth studying. Taking on case amounts of debt you will never be able to pay back is bad for you, the economy and the nation. So I don't agree they aren't bad just for many people not valuable.

You can get education outside of the University. Having a PHD or a master's isn't necessary for most people.

once you get tenure you can't get fired. Largely sinus subsided by government through student loans.

No, working at a university makes you liberal. People who are smarter compete for more money in the private sector. Leaving University behind, growing up, makes you less left.

Yeah wasting your life getting a philosophy degree to be a professor and never be able to pay your loans back seems stupid to me.

You'll never get rich being a professor. People that go to college get education in a field that can lead to a job only normally spend a couple years in college and those years suck. Such people likely aren't left.

Could the disparity have anything to do with the African-American students themselves?

Affirmative action contributes to the low opinion of republicans toward the liberal colleges

And the suppression of fundamental rights that goes on in Universities, the smug self-righteousness of the staff combined with their horrific incompetence that is producing a student loan crisis. Just think, if these clowns had their way, they would implement the following by force: Set your thermostat to 78 degrees or higher in the summer, federal agency recommends.

Republicans are simply too committed to your basic civil rights to support our current Left wing Academia.

Funny and scary at the same time... College negatively impacts the state of the union??

Trumpism is better explained all the time.... and why 2020 is not a lock for the Democrats, even after the 2018 Blue Wave.

My son is going to college.... it's not even in question. Which one he can get into and we can afford is still up in the air, but he's going to get a 4 year advanced degree, and we hope it will help propel him to a better start in adult life. It did for me and my wife, so he's going to have that as well.

And if he learns in college that supporting a conservative agenda is a neanderthal concept, my money will have been better spent than I would have hoped for.

A good indicator of whether you are right or not is if the less intelligent insinuate that you aren't.

    Thanks for the compliment.
