Wall ... Schmall ! I think we've had about as mush wall talk
as permitting sanity vs. eating too much junk at the summer
state fair.Like Salt water taffy on top of cotton candy with a couple
Corn dogs,topped-off with a nice standard sized snicker's bar ...
    Fried no less.
Guaranteed to make one feel like NOT balancing on one's
front feet like a circus elephant. But ruther woozily drifting around
the Fair as if in a dream with no exit door let alone pepto-bismal.
A stomach as heavy and churning as if a fully engaged cement mixer.
    Is what.

Docs assured me I'll never had that problem again.

You, however, are becoming a bad influence. Who wants to work when they could be playing in the dirt all day? :(

    Dirt Schmirt.It never bothered Burt mush.The Gator,Bandit,Sonny,
    Stroker,Danny boy August of he-men.
I think sidekick Sally Fields developed a few wrinkles along the
    way,however.
Movie trivia ... Where oh where and when did Burt develop his
    funny laugh.
I like his Alfred Hitchcock Presents role :
    - Escape to Sonoita - { 1960 } Where a couple escaped kidnappers
think it cute to use a desert road and end up in need of water for
    survival.

They tell me that I'll get my first Social Security check tomorrow...

Today is my last day of youthful vigor. Aug. 21, 2019; the day that I officially become old.

    So you're between 62-65 yrs.older.
SS checks come out like ducks on a June bug.
2nd Wednesday of the month. If the first day of the month is a Thursday
then you won't get a check till the 14 th a wednesday.
However if the first day of the month is a Wednesday, you'll git
a SS check on the 8th,or 2nd Wednesday.

They say old is a state of mind, but old is actually a state of body and mind, not necessarily counted on a calendar.

Today, I'm 92 and feeling it. Tomorrow, I may be 50 and killing it. It all depends on the amount of coffee I consume. :)

It depends on when you were born.

"If your birthday is in the first 10 days of the month, then you'll get your benefits on the second Wednesday of each month. Those with birthdays between the 11th and the 20th get their monthly payments on the third Wednesday. Payments are made on the fourth Wednesday of the month for those with birthdays on the 21st or later."

Aug. 1st was on a Thursday, this year. That means that I had to wait the longest possible number of days to get my first check.

Which means that you were born late into a month.I take it
a dog days month. So you have to pay the piper like Twiced.
Once by getting paid a little late and another the aggravation of
waiting.I find that waiting is a real bummer.Like waiting on something
from UPS or FedX or Postal delievery.
Or for a banning to expire.

Don't forget that Tuesday is still Lady's Day.

To all my beer buddies out there, lookie what I got:

    HOPS.jpg

    IT'S A GIRL! :D

These are first cones from the Cascade hop plants my wife bought me a couple of years ago. From what I've read Cascade and Chinook hops can handle our hot, humid summers in the South better than other varieties but I've got a little Williamette and a Mount Hood that are still hanging in there. In a year or two I might be ready to break ground on a small hop yard, but in the meantime I'm still trying to distinguish the girls from the boys. I know I have this female and a male that I'm going to have to get rid of but I have five more plants that have yet to identify themselves.

Anyhoo, I'm jacked up. Success at last! :woot:

    Congratulations uh ... Dad!

I'm not a hop grower, and I don't brew my own. But I do love to drink good beer - IPAs mostly. But I do live in the Willamette Valley, and I drive past giant hop farms on my way to work. Hops are big business in this area.

Nice. The hop grown in and named after your valley happens to be my favorite all-purpose hop.

We're just starting to get into hop farming down here in Virginia thanks to the high demand generated by the craft brew industry. However, we're on the southern edge of the growing range so our climate isn't near as suitable as your own. For example, we have a hard time growing the German Hallertau Mittelfrüher hops you taste in Sam Adams Boston Lager, but so far I've managed to grow an American bred cultivar - Mount Hood - that stems from that noble hop and is bred to better withstand our hot humid conditions and is way more disease resistant. Powdery mildew can be a big problem with hops around here (Japanese beetles love them, too) - I almost lost that Cascade plant pictured in my previous post when it got infected last year.

I haven't looked close enough But I believe that Home Brewing is
way down.I quit about 17 years ago.Way too much work.
    My Liquor store used to carry fresh pack Liquid Yeast { Lager & Ale }
Plus fresh hops in plastic baggies. Both are kept refrigerated.
Cascade and Willamette.Home Brewing takes a lot of practice.
And technique.I was nearing an intermediate level of brewing.
Meaning us of all grains and no Can malt extract. But that is risky.
Crushing grains allows for infection.Which is somewhat Ironic.
All these GenX'ers and Millennials just lust after very expensive
    beers.I'm talkin' 4 packs over $ 10 bucks.
    Singles { larger than 12 oz. } for $ 3.50.
I just saw the other day at a New gas station an entire open cooler
stocked with very new 32 oz. cans of ordinary beer.Like Old Milwaukee.
But the Cans looked tempting.I think the price was $ 3.oo per
    can or buy 2 for $ 5.oo
