Could 911 Be Prevented If We Can Shoot Down Planes?

Error: Washington is ringed with anti-aircraft ground to air missiles. F-16's were scrambled after the fact. It was a well executed, totally surprise attack from an unlikely source, passenger airliners. All U.S. air space was shut down almost immediately.

The big question, if you're in charge is: "When do you pull the trigger to kill hundreds of civilians?"

 

With thousands of aircraft aloft over the US at any given time, shutting down US air space "almost immediately" isn't even a thing that can be done.

 

All you people arguing against giving ordinary citizens the ability to defend against terrorism are like those arguing against allowing citizens to defend themselves with guns.

Will we be able to stop all terrorists? No. I never said we will. But you sound like defeatists if you think that at least some terrorist could be stopped by citizens and not have to wait for the government.

Having surface to air missiles also keeps the government in check. Armed citizens are free citizens. It's the intent of the second amendmend.

A bit of trivia for you--the government commission on the matter stated 60+ times that "we found no evidence" to support various claims in the narrative.

I merely pointed out that 911 was staged by powerful criminals inside government, and the silly hypothetical proposed in the OP is very silly indeed because the events of 911 were the predicate act for what the government calls its Global War Of Terror.
