What makes you think the Germs were the most important ally? They were useful to US for their geographical location, but never most important.

It was your Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Obama who said so.

    Germany is an economic superpower.

What trump wants is a vasall and we dont give him that

    "
The vassal is obliged to pay “tribute” in the form of deductions for “protection” from Russia, must abandon Nord Stream-2 under the threat of sanctions, must lose economic benefits, must send the Bundeswehr soldier to the point of the world that the US president must provide, must provide its territory for the deployment of missile defense systems, military bases and nuclear weapons. Finally, the Germans are required to comply with sanctions against Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and any other countries, because it is so beneficial to Washington.

Therefore, are the Germans really wrong, who, in turn, ignore Washington’s demands? That is why with increasing criticism of German politics from the United States, not only the opposition in Berlin is growing, but also the scale of its turn to the East, as well as the potential to strengthen the united European policy as opposed to the North Atlantic course."

    We dont bow. Never will.

You shouldn't take flattery for fact. They say the same thing to many countries, like UK and Israel, etc

Oh they mean it with Israel. They would put Israel's well being before that of the US. Indeed as many have said they have been doing so for decades.

Germany has a bigger economic power than UK, Israel, Poland ect combined.

As for flattery, media here say Trump is plain and simple bizarre and demented.

I dont know if you realize how rotten away USA image in the world is.

Btw trump is fist american president in 60 years who has not visited Germany. Clinton, Obama, Bush, Reagan and Carter visited Germany each multiple times.

Its strange to see how an alliance breaks apart. Im a young man. I grew up with UA as our ally and now within 3 years it has become almost like an enemy.

If the size of the economy was the only thing that mattered, China and Japan would be more important allies than Germany.

China is your enemy and Japan a US state without voting rights.

That said, its strange to see how quick our nations have become enemies. Thats something i did not know before and it broke within just few months. Wonder how much it will collapse,.

Some here wonder if it can improve again.

Trump announced today that he will release ISIS fighters into Germany and France. He said he has no choice, but to do it.

I agree it is very unfortunate to see the damage Trump is creating. He drives away old allies and gets nothing out of it.

The good thing is that the allies understand it is about 100% Trump, and not the US, which means the relations will be restored once he leaves.

How so, will he fly them in? Border is closed.

That game can go both ways. We can give them visa and let them travel into USA.

Actually not. Experts here say the rift is fundamental and does not depend on Trump alone.

How do you want restore relations?

You know whats funny? Denmark as the US ally that actually did as Trump ordered. Denmark tried to stop our Nordstream II pipeline by blocking it from their coastal waters. We had to place the pipeline at a different route. And now trump humilates them in the world.

He was invited by the danish queen. Evrything prepared. Something like this is unknown in diplomacy in last 70 years.

Yes, I guess he'll just fly them in.

He has no choice. He has to do it.

US president Donald Trump has threatened to release “thousands” of Isis fighters held in Syria “to Europe” if their countries do not take back their citizens who went to join the terror group.

You're right about that. Denmark was the last obstacle to Nord Stream 2. Looks like that obstacle will be removed shortly.

Trump shoots himself in the foot ..... again.

Evidently, you don't realize this outside your foxhole:

That was rather undiplomatic of PM Frederiksen, but both of our leaders will get over it.

While it was nice of them to say that, Bush and Clinton were blowing rainbows up your butts. The UK has been our closest and most important ally for quite some time, and that hasn't changed.

    In Europe, yes...

    False on both counts.

My old browser won't open your article, but our countries (or governments) have been moving away from each other for a while now. I don't find this particularly noteworthy, worrisome or unusual when two countries' interests diverge and their leaders don't get along with each other. Furthermore, it's to expected when an American president puts our country and its interests before other countries and their interests. People abroad are more fond of presidents like Obama who put their countries and interests before our own.

This is nothing for either one of us to get angry or upset about. We're all living in a transitional period right now, Sobo, and as the power dynamics in the world become increasingly multipolar our country and the rising regional powers across the globe - including Germany - are going to move away from one another and our interests will come into increasing competition and conflict with one another.

For the most part, change can be a difficult thing. Change is fraught with uncertainty and people don't like uncertainty. We like things nice and neat, orderly and predictable, but the world we are living in right now is just the opposite - it is messy, chaotic and unpredictable. The old world order is being replaced by the new world disorder, and we're all going to have to learn how to deal with that. God didn't hand us a User's Manual and History can only teach us so much. We're blazing this trail on our own.

Its not about interests. Trump actively wants Germany as an enemy.

As for your "false", no country has more influence in europe than germany.

The Uk is a rather poor country with weak economy and even they dont want be vasall anymore (iranian tanker).

And the danish pm said it nice, she used word absurd. Most others in europe say he is mentally ill.

Greenlanders will come running to the U.S. when Russia or China get aggressive.

Sure, first he makes a fool out of himself, gets a straight forward answer and than has not the guts to look the Danish Prime Minister and the Queen into the eyes. That's what you call a Coward.

    OMG.. Trump is a criminal.

US president Donald Trump has threatened to release “thousands” of Isis fighters held in Syria “to Europe” if their countries do not take back their citizens who went to join the terror group.

Around 800 Isis fighters of European origin are currently being detained in northern Syria by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, along with thousands of women and children.

Danes are big consumers of hotdogs.

So I doubt Mette Frederiksen would have told Trump to pound his pud but to eat her "Rød Pølse."

Rød pølse (plural - røde pølser) is a bright-red, most often boiled pork sausage very common in Denmark. Hot dog stands selling the familiar sausages are common in Denmark and many regard the rød pølse as one of Denmark’s National dishes. Røde pølser are a Vienna-type sausage; the filling being finely ground like American hot dogs and having a similar texture. They are longer and thinner than their American counterparts and still have their casings intact. They are traditionally dyed red with carmine. I understand that may be a hold-over from times past, before refrigeration, as an indication the sausages were not freshly made that day. From the street vendors they can be grilled but they are most often cooked in hot water. The traditional condiments are personal choice combinations of: remoulade, mustard, ketchup, fried and fresh onions and another specialty, pickled sliced cucumber.
