DO you care what anyone wears to go swimming? Is it strange the Left has always promoted an anything-goes lifestyle among westerners but more recently has defended a really traditional lifestyle such as Islam? Why aren't they especially defending nun's habits or Amish dress?

Double standards for "oppressed" non-white minority cultures.

They were fighting tooth and nail against Christian modesty 3 or 4 decades ago, but now maybe since they won the cultural war they feel they can be generous to the muslims, and after all the muslims aren't a big enough group to really be a political threat to them yet.

Anyway, in France the culture really has been changing on the beaches. Maybe women feel less comfortable going topless when they're surrounded by other women wearing burkinis, or maybe it's just they don't like being ogled by creepy men.

If anyone wears full length, black clothing into the water on Cape Cod, they're going to be mistaken for a seal and a Great White is going to cut them in half.

She looks ridiculous in that outfit. It would be extremely uncomfortable to swim in. But it doesn't harm me, so I have no problem with it.

It's so sad to think about Iran's potential and how they chose to live in the 7th century.

Ever seen a nun in a full, old-fasioned habit on the beach? Or Amish women in their traditional garb? I'm guessing not. I'm also guessing that if they were to go to the beach or the local municipal swimming pool in whatever garb they wear for such activities, it wouldn't be liberals who had a problem with it or even gave them a second glance. Project much?

Please provide example of "fighting tooth and nail against Christian modesty". I'm old enough to remember all of those decades quite clearly, but I don't recall any such battles over what people chose to wear to the beach.

The only beach wear I've ever had a problem with are the tiny, tight-fitting "speedo" type swimsuits that some men wear. Those are unattractive on anyone, IMO, but especially horrific on any man with even a little body fat. No one wants to see that!
