It had ZERO to do with Obama.

They did it with Bush, too.

How much clearer can it be that your claim that it was "Obama's precedent" is a bold faced lie.

Obama himself never said anything about it. Trump does.

The fact is, this is all about Trump once again being a complete jackass in that regard, and nothing more.

On top of that fact that he uses official White House appearances as campaign rallies, and the Shell employees were forced to watch him if they wanted to get paid.

Nice try at distractions from Trump The Clown, but it's complete baloney.

Trump behaves like the king of a cult of personnality. He acts as if he is above the law and the taxpayers are beneath him.

He needs his adorning sychophants and fans constantly MAGA-izing.

The DOJ won't indict a ditting president, that is their policy. He can't be indicted for any crime (unless the DOJ policy changes), until he leaves office.

I didn't say anyone in a position of power did. I said Obama voters a few here were talking about it and it wouldn't surprise if mr. Tingly leg on MSNBC thought it a consummation devoutly to be desired.

Trump never stopped campaigning. Why? He gets out of Washington to be with his adoring admirers. He hates his job. He would much rather be with his people, the cult that surrounds him at rallies. The cult that never asks any questions. They just cheer and laugh.

For Trump, what's not to like.

When Congress bestowed much power onto the executive branch, no one ever dreamed there would by a paranoid, narcissistic, incompetent, inexperienced President like Trump. When the Democrats nominated the worst possible candidate, many voters were confused and couldn't decide between two substandard candidates. As a consequence, millions of voters stayed home and millions more threw their vote away on a candidate who had no chance of winning. They voted their conscience and we got Trump.

As a result, Trump was elected by disillusioned blue collar workers and their spouses, people who lacked an education, anarchists attracted to Trump's "drain the swamp" mantra, white supremacists, and various other malcontents who blamed the government for all their problems.

    When Trump said this:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

–Real estate mogul Donald Trump, presidential announcement speech, June 16, 2015

He attracted all the wrong people. Because he is a bigot, despite all his costly mistakes, despite making a fool of himself nearly every day, despite over 10,000 lies told to the American people, his loyal followers stay with him. Even though he has cost them dearly if one has a retirement investment account or if one is a farmer or one is a consumer paying higher prices because of his tariffs, over 80% of Republicans stay loyal to him.

    Incredible.

Only Trumpists would present this kind of desperate straw man instead of actually responding to the issue at hand.

See you are still denigrating fellow citizens you feel superior to without merit. I’m glad you are hanging in there. My guess is you have driven a large number of moderates and independents to consider voting for Trump next time around. You have certainly reconfirmed for this independent the fact Trump will almost certainly be the lesser of two evils in 2020.

I don’t know if I’ll vote for Trump this time around, but it’s very clear we dare not let anyone with such elitist attitudes as we see in these kinds of posts into the positions of power (instead of the intended positions of servitude) government today provides.

Carry on comrade Shanks. Your posts are nearing the entertainment value of Russian Facebook posts. :)

Why Trump’s blurring between campaigning and governing matters?

Obviously he enjoys political rallies. You didn't need to ask that. Common sense answers the question.

Unless of course it's a Democrat doing it. Obama was in campaign mode for eight years and never a whimper from the left about the cop hating hate monger stirring up trouble.

I think you need to worry more about the Jihadists in your country than anything that's happening here.

Right. Why do Europeans and Australians need to opine on American politics? I *very rarely* comment on British politics. But I don’t get involved by commenting on a daily (or hourly) basis.
