Obama Recession

Liberals want to claim the economic growth the past two years as a continuation of Obama years. If there is a recession would they take the blame too or will they blane Trump?

Would they call it the Obama recession or would they blame Trump?

Would they blame the Obama trade war with Canada, Mexico, China, India and EU or would they blame Trump?

Would they ridicule Obama for the half a million adjustment down in job creation or would they again blame Trump?

 

Why not blame Oblama the repubs live on someone else's dime.

 

I don’t know anything about liberals claiming the current economic growth is due to Obama. Hopefully some of these liberals can answer your question.
I do know many conservatives give Trump credit for the current economy. Will they blame Trump if there is a recession???

 

The Obama recession began in the second quarter of 2001 after the dot com fiasco.

 

So, Obama started a recession before he ever even got into the white house, or even congress?

I'm pretty surethat was Bush and the Republicans, since they controlled the entire federal government at the time.

 

Obama passed Trump a growing economy, if it crashes, that is all on Trump

Democrats said we needed a bigger tax cut for the middle class, but Trump demanded the mega tax cut for the corps instead

the infrastructure deal democrats wanted would of helped too

Three years in, Trump owns it, dude. A year in, and Obama could have been blamed - but it's just cowardly to claim that after three years that Trump isn't involved.

Obama inherited a recession and turned it around in about 2 to 3 years.

Trump inherited a boom, and so if it turns around, well it's been 2 to 3 years.

Trump and his supporters are unbelievable.

I think he also doesn't understand the difference between a recession and a deficit. Cause the actual recession didn't start until 2007.

 

Crediting Obama with an economy that was unchanged is logical...it stayed on the same course for years after he left office.'

Blaming him when it CHANGED...three years after he left office...especially considering the trade war that Trump has pulled out of his ass...is not

Would Democrat take blame for Trump's idiotic trade wars, cancelling the TPP, tax breaks for the rich adding to the deficit, no significant piece of legislation passed in over two and a half years, attacking the Fed for doing it's job, no action on the financial repercussions of climate change, ... and on and on?

The question is: when will Trump take responsibility for his failures?

 

People think because the economy stayed at the same level for a couple years at the end of Obama's presidency, and there wasn't any real growrth that he wasn't doing his job, but the fact that the a level economy is a good thing. Especially considering that we were still recovering from the worst recession the country had seen since the Great Depression.

 

I believe Margot2 was being sarcastic. But if you press the issue hard enough, you will find Republicans arguing that Obama was responsible for the 2008 crisis through his actions as Senator (in the minority). When it comes to a Republican in the Presidency, some of these guys are masters at deflecting the "buck".

 

You mean Obama's trade war, Obama's cancellation of TPP, Obama's tax cut for the rich, Obama's government shutdown.

If you want to give Obama credit when the economy was booming, then you gotta give him the blame.

Obama blamed everything bad on Bush. He did that for eight straight years. Trump fires up the economy in 2 years and Obama takes credit for that. As far as the MSM was concerned Obama was the chosen one, chosen by them. The MSM slobbered on Obama's shoes for eight years and had chills run up their leg when Obama spoke. The MSM tried the same thing with Hillary but Trump came riding in and "told it like it is". It drives the MSM crazy that they can't unseat Trump. BTW -- what happened to the Russia collusion story? Seems to have died on the vine after 2 years.

 

So... according to you, the economy only "fired up" this year?

Anyone who blames Obama for the GOP's great recession can simply be told, "go to the corner and don't talk."

Obama's economic measures recovered the economy and gave the Trump administration something to work with.

Trump has not yet destroyed the Obama Recovery but is trying to with the tariffs, at the bidding of his Russian masters.

The current growth is due to the unprecedented, intraveneously injected stimulus in the form of very low interest rates and quantitative easing.

Don't be surprised when we're in 2008 all over again.

 

Another 2008 is looming early in the next year.

The Great Recession was all GOP all the way.

Obama is no more a socialist than was Reagan.
