Americans will never work for Chinese wages, so the only option would be to pay them more, and pass the cost to the consumer. Likewise, the cost of tariffs is passed to the American consumer.

 

So, we have made very few gains and are WAY below 1980s numbers, and we are supposed to celebrate it as some kind of victory.
