Trite, old chestnuts aside, megalomaniacal delusions of universal virtuosity are troubling, as is a craven penchant for lying and lashing out at others rather than honestly acknowledge responsibility for one's failures:

"I think nobody knows more about campaign finance than I do" (1999.)

"I know more about people who get ratings than anyone." (October 2012.)

"I know more about ISIS than the generals do."
    (November 2015.)

"I understand social media. I understand the power of Twitter. I understand the power of Facebook maybe better than almost anybody, based on my results, right?" (November 2015.)

"I know more about courts than any human being on Earth." (November 2015.)

"[W]ho knows more about lawsuits than I do? I'm the king." (January 2016.)

"I understand politicians better than anybody."

"[N]obody knows the system better than me. I know the H1B. I know the H2B.
    ...

"Nobody else on this dais knows how to change it like I do, believe me." (March 2016.)

"Nobody knows more about trade than me." (March 2016.)

"[N]obody knows the system better than I do." (April 2016.)

"I know more about renewables than any human being on Earth." (April 2016.)

"I think nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world." (May 2016.)

"I’m the king of debt. I’m great with debt. Nobody knows debt better than me." (June 2016.)

"I understand money better than anybody." (June 2016.)

"[L]ook, as a builder, nobody in the history of this country has ever known so much about infrastructure as Donald Trump." (July 2016.)

"I know more about Cory than he knows about himself." (July 2016.)

Trump said in 2016 that Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he was endorsing him for president because "you know more about this stuff than anybody."

"I think I know more about the other side than almost anybody." (November 2016.)

"[N]obody knows more about construction than I do." (May 2018.)The economy: "I think I know about it better than [the Federal Reserve]." (October 2018.)

"Technology — nobody knows more about technology than me." (December 2018.)

"I know more about drones than anybody. I know about every form of safety that you can have." (January 2019.)

"Having a drone fly overhead — and I think nobody knows much more about technology, this type of technology certainly, than I do." (January 2019.)

It's called self-confidence, Bumpo. Yes, those who have it make mistakes, seem arrogant to many and will over-reach and over-state at times. But they accomplish far more than most. When the going gets tough, they get tougher. When they fail- they get up and try again, learning and still going for the goals . It's never appreciated by all, because those without the ability to do it don't want to be expected to match it. Those who act like they have self-confidence but fail to accomplish anything..... just continue to fail, and blame the rest of the world for not being what they think it should be.
Those are the ones you should see as frauds and fakes.

Trump is sort of like the George Patton of politics right now. While all the allies criticized him for his demeanor and brass, the Germans knew he was the best general and commander we ever had.

Why politics of course. I'm not sure why we needed to tell you that. However, I agree completely with your post. Tariffs, by the way, are not a tax because higher consumer prices are not a tax. In many cases tariffs do not always result in higher consumer prices. The current tariffs are a good example. China, as folks will remember, devalued its currency to counteract the tariffs. That made importer costs the same as they were before. They are just paying some of it to the Chinese and some of it to the federal government. In effect, China is paying for the tariffs.

Yes the tariffs are having some minor effects in areas of the economy but there is nothing worth abandoning them before China's policies are corrected.

So, OP, you have a low tolerance for exaggeration. That could be a problem in this age of hyperbole.

It's called "delusional," by rational folks.

Fleeing from reality and fantasizing that one is superior to everyone at everything, while eminently comical, is actually indicative of pathological insecurity.

    Reality inevitably asserts itself.

    Lies or delusions?

I wasn't aware that any rational person would ever believe Trump's absurd, fraudulent claims, including,

"I think nobody knows more about campaign finance than I do" (1999.)

Unless Trump weasels out at the last minute, he is about to make good on his threat to American consumers and businesses:

If he does not wimp out, he will lash out and blame others for the consequences of his "easy to win!" trade war.

China has been screwing us for years due to bad trade deals. It is one of the reasons the farmers are still with Trump. Can you guess why prices have not risen due to the tariffs on China?

The Chinese are patient, and Xi Jinping is a very patient man. They are used to five, ten, and twenty year plans. Xi is also politically savvy. He knows Trump is a very unpopular President and is getting more unpopular everyday as his trade war becomes more serious..Because of his 15% tariff, prices on popular consumer goods go up big time beginning Sept. 1.

Trump has until November 2020 to make some progress. So far his trade war has been disastrous, and Wall Street has been treading water since Jan. 2018. Today, even Trump is concerned about a possible recession.

All Xi has to do is wait him out. Actually, in Chinese terms, Xi doesn't have long to wait. Thirteen months, that is thirteen seconds on the Chinese clock.

Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall said, “China’s announcement that it will not buy any agricultural products from the United States is a body blow to thousands of farmers and ranchers who are already struggling to get by.”

Duvall pointed out, “Now, we stand to lose all of what was a $9.1 billion market in 2018, which was down sharply from the $19.5 billion U.S. farmers exported to China in 2017.”

The Farm Bureau report showed that farmer bankruptcies had risen in every region of the U.S. for the year ending in June except for the Southwest. Wisconsin, Kansas and Minnesota led the nation in Chapter 12 filings; bankruptcy filings in Kansas and Minnesota increased so significantly in the past year that they reached the highest levels of the past decade.

Farmers are probably the first to realize that they will have lost a lot of Chinese market share to other countries or that China will start to grow more of the crops they have been importing. It has taken decades to grow the Chinese market but a significant amount will be lost in just a few years due to Trump’s tariffs and China’s retaliation.

A Newsweek article in May detailed a Fox News interview with Patty Edelburg, vice president of the Washington-based National Farmers Union, which represents about 200,000 U.S. farms. In the interview she said, "It has been insane. We've had a lot of farmers—a lot more bankruptcies going on, a lot more farmer suicides.

The Trump White House has taken one of America’s leading export sectors and turned it into a group dependent upon government welfare for its very survival.

Trump tweeted, "farmers will be a a very BIG and FAST beneficiary of our deal with China. They intend to start purchasing agricultural product immediately. We make the finest and cleanest product in the World, and that is what China wants. Farmers, I LOVE YOU!

Yes, because Trump has not placed tariffs on popular consumer goods. That will change Sept. 1. I am sure you know that.

Also, you are wrong. Trump has placed harsh tariffs on steel and aluminum. Items that use steel and aluminum in their manufacture have gone up, cars, appliances, etc.

If he does wimp out, that's it, nobody will believe a damn thing he says anymore. Wimping out, changing mind, has happened far too often.

For the sake of our economy, he should change his mind. His tariff is dangerous. Nevertheless, my first statement holds. Trump put himself in this position.

Where the f**k is the GOP leadership? Where is McConnell?

The RINOs of Trumpery's infestation of the GOP is a form of demonic possession in which conservative values are anathema.

Fostering free trade, controlling the national debt, maintaining steady, trustworthy policies, assuming international leadership in humanitarian and other allied endeavours, etc. are not priorities in Trump's sh!thole nation.

You only think prices haven't changed much because the existing tariffs are mostly on components. Things that go into more expensive products.
Wait for this round if Trump actually puts them on consumer goods.
    Example:
    2019 Harbor Freight.

The rich don't hoard money. They put there money into savings, which is essentially deferred consumption, as it's lent out. Savings is where real economic growth and wealth creation originates.

Fake Don can only lash out and blame others for so long.

He will be forced to surrender.

He'll just have to pretend he won.
