A society that has devolved to a level that murdering infants before and after birth is acceptable has no reason to expect weak minds to value human life.

    Own it!

The shooter Seth Ator was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and evading arrest in 2001,he plead guilty receiving 24 month probation. This charge would not prevent him from legally buying and owning guns in Texas.

The media is going 24/7 over the Odessa, TX shootings but no mention of the Chicago shootings . . .

At least 25 people were shot, seven fatally, during the first half of Labor Day Weekend in Democrat-controlled Chicago.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the fatalities began around 12:22 a.m. Saturday, when 42-year-old Willie Coker was shot to death while standing outside. The shooting occurred on South Burley Avenue.

The number of people killed by guns in the U.S. is less than 0.01% of the population.

    It's not a crisis.

Law enforcement officials on Sunday identified the man who killed seven people and wounded 22 others in a shooting spree in West Texas as Seth Ator, 36. He has a minor criminal record. The educated guess here is that he was under the influence of something.

They like their guns in Texas. FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs said his agency responds to Texas frequently. He said the FBI is "here now almost every other week supporting our local and state partners on active shooters.

The death toll in Odessa rose to seven. 22 were injured.

El Paso, TX is 285 miles away where 22 people were killed and 24 injured by a white supremacist who took Trump's words to heart.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said on the day he announced his Presidential campaign in 2015, saying some of those crossing the border were “rapists.”

“How do you stop these people? You can’t,” Trump said at a May 2019 rally in Panama City Beach, Fla.

At a rally in February in El Paso, in an almost hypnotic fashion Trump brought up undocumented immigrants and said, “Murders, murders, murders. Killings, murders!” https://www.vox.com/2019/8/6/207570...ton-mass-shooting-sites-controversy-explained

Oh would you stop with your demented abortion rants. We get it. You feel abortion is wrong. Well, news flash, abortion rights is an age old argument, that will never be resolved and that doesn't mean you can interject your dismay about abortion into every single thread.
This thread, just so you know, has NOTHING to do with abortion, so go peddle your mental health problems on a more appropriate topic.
    Please and thank you!

Nobody murder infants after birth that is a lie. Weak minds are these two who live in conservative red states who perpetrated the last two last mass shootings.

Single shot rifle that takes forever to reload. It ain't a weapon of war by today's standard.

The difference here is that what is happening in Chicago are turf wars, clashes between gangs. There is a great deal of difference between turf wars and mass shootings that involve innocent people at a mall, or a school, or a bar, or a picnic.

There is a significant difference between turf wars and a shooter who is motivated by white supremacist views.

It is sad, but the turf wars in Chicago are a weekly occurrence. Except for Chicago, no longer are they the subject of national news coverage, whereas mass killings are, although they, too , have become far too common since Trump became President.

It was a weapon of war when the 2A was ratified.

And the musket wasn't the only weapon available to the people in 1791.

There were Kentucky long rifles, mortars, grenades, cannons and ships with cannons. All of which were not prohibited to the ordinary citizen.

The Puckle gun was a repeating arms tripod mounted gun with removal drum magazines. In a 1722 shipping manifest it was referred to as a "machine gun."

In 1722 Texas was part of Mexico as was New Mexico and a good part of Louisiana.

    Dont forget the Girandoni
    https://www.guns.com/news/2011/03/15/the-girandoni-air-rifle-deadly-under-pressure
    [IMG]

48 inches long and the gun weighed in at 10 pounds, similar in size and weight to the muskets of the era. And believe it or not it was a stone cold killer at up to 100 yards, able to punch a hole in a 1 inch pine board for the first 30 shots on a single air reservoir. The power dissipated and required a ‘pump up’ after that but the gun was miles ahead of anything seen thus far.

My initial scepticism of these weapons was fuelled by the misconception that they were similar to a Daisy BB gun. When I realized that the Girandoni propelled a .46 calibre ball through a rifled barrel at a muzzle velocity of 900 fps, I realized how wrong I had been. Providing a high rate of fire, there was no smoke from propellants nor muzzle flash to reveal ambush positions nor concern for inclement battle conditions as you needn’t worry about keeping powder dry. And believe it or not, at the right distance, the gun has a comparable impact to a .45 ACP cartridge—without the bang of course. A little overpowered for knocking squirrels off the bird feeder, but then again why not—unless they’re watching the neighbours won’t notice.

    1. There are no such thing as sensible gun laws.
    2. The NRA is not a terrorist organization.

We should provide gun owners and manufactures the motivation to clean this insanity up.

Can you imagine what an insurance policy for each arm would be to cover the cost of this carnage?

Future earnings, law enforcement, healthcare, mental healthcare, infrastructure damage, and we’d just be getting started.

There is always the “conservative” angle, why the hell should my tax dollars be spent for the convenience of irresponsible gun owners?

Who is a irresponsible gun owner? Every freaking owner that isn’t actively engaged in cleaning up your ranks.
If you’re sitting on your hands through this you have nothing to complain about when the pendulum swings.

This kind of "thinking" is why school children are purchasing bulletproof backpacks and parents pray every morning for their safe return. When gun nuts start thinking like parents instead of Rambo, things will improve.

Yes children buying bulletproof backpacks and doing active shooter drills at school is a joke
