queue armada of open carry nutters struting down the aisles of Walmart to show people that they can not be silenced. Nothing makes me feel safer than 5 guys displaying their weapons 'hoping' to be confronted.:eyepopping:

Cool, Red Henning is 'great' for business. Oh well, many that buy the ammo they still sell will just patronize an independent retailer.
    Red Hen your profits away.

Okay so customers are no longer allowed to have guns in Walmarts. So...now you'll have to go though airport type security to go shopping? That sounds realistic.

I'm guessing Walmart got a new CEO within the last couple of years, or the board members have been gradually changed around, with board members brought in from out of state.

This "We have to do something" mentality every time there's an incident is just ridiculous.

What happens when there's another shooting with something else? Will Walmart stop selling those things too? Will it get gradually ratcheted down?

The 2A doesnt apply to private property. Walmart has the lawful right to prohibit open carry (and even concealed) on its property. All it has to do is post 'no firearms' signs at its entrances Anyone violating its rules would be, at the very least, unlawfully trespassing.

Well that's an interesting point. I think Walmart will have to ask them to leave first.
    It depends on the law.
The location could permanently ban them from the property if they broke the rules, and then they'd be considered trespassing if they came back, and could be arrested then.

Im guessing if they want the trespassing charge to stick, they'll have to ask them to leave first. However, signs at the entrances may count as that.

Usually an individual can't be arrested for trespassing just for not following the rules. They have to be physically asked by an actual person to leave first.

Walmarts (at least in the midwest) stopped selling guns, ammo and even paintball stuff after columbine. I remember cuz I played a lot of paintball and they were the only local source for paint and CO2 back then. They resumed a few years later. They're just being trendy.

Could be. I have no experience with being asked to leave. I just know any private property can (and should be able to) prohibit firearms.

Any private property should be able to require people to wear shoes and shirts, and any number of other manner of things.

There's absolutely nothing unique about firearms here.
If it was a sign prohibiting lesbian interracial porn, it wouldn't be any different.

You can post "no firearms allowed on property" on your house/land and cops will just ignore it. Unless it is an emergency or warrant situation, they would be breaking the law. But they will.

Exactly. This is just one big virtue signalling extravaganza. None of this has any effect on reducing mass shootings.

It's even the exact opposite, if they forbid guns in their stores, law abiding citizens will abide while they'll have no way to enforce this on criminals unless they check every single person going shopping which is ridiculous. So criminals will still be able to come in armed, and now they'll know nobody is armed to stop them.

I think property owners should be able to ban w/e they want on their property.

No one is talking about banning lesbian interracial porn, right? I hope not.

Oops. Did I say that out loud?

Depends on the State. Here in FL this statement is incorrect. You have to be asked to leave and refuse before it becomes a law enforcement matter, sign or no sign.

Yeah, it's the left's way to implement their authoritarian policy without legislation.
