I laugh and ask them if they heard that on The View (their main source of news).

They swell up and pout... but always come back for more. ;)

Is that the rate for $250,000 per year?

Believe it or not there are billionaires who think our tax laws suck for low income and the middleclass. I happen to believe in a progressive taxation system and I don't agree with regressive taxes. The reasoning isn't about the individual, it's about how to develop an economy and make it grow.

Yes, actually, it is. So defend your demands. I guarantee you that there are far more folks how make 250K or so than there are billionaires. So how do you justify your demand? So you believe in progressive taxation. Congrats you have bought into the stratification of wealth. Because the more you take from folks who aren't billionaires, the fewer millionaires are built and less competition. You seem grossly unaware that you're advocating this, but you are.

As far as developing an economy, you don't appear well versed, so excuse me by not taking your recommendations or observations seriously.

Great, you want to pay the highest rate you'd have any other pay. I'm impressed

But you don't really know him. What you know is a caricature. He wasn't considered a sociopathic monster in NY before he became president.

And "no soul"? You believe in souls and you believe that he doesn't have one?

You're sure that when you add up the good things he has done in his life, that they don't equal yours? I'm not.

Do you understand what progressive taxation is? Most of the top economist support progressive taxation. What demands, we already have progressive taxation, but the loopholes allow many who make fortunes to pay no taxes at all. I don't have to defend logic.

A sales tax is a regressive tax.

I seem to know economics and you don't. I know how to grow a country and it doesn't happen by giving more to the rich.

Take a hint, right-wingers don't have a clue about economics.

I wasn't using the word soul in either a religious or even spiritual sense. I have seen no evidence that he has 'heart', that he cares about anyone or anything but himself and his immediate family. I see no evidence that he has any sense of decency or morality. I don't know what you mean by 'good things that he has done'. I am not interested in reading that he employed people or anything that he did with his money.

If you have evidence of Donald Trump sacrificing his own self interest, to do something because it was the right or moral thing to do, or if you point to times when he could have taken the low road, and benefited from it, but chose instead to take a high road and sacrifice gain, please feel free. He's an older man in his 70's who's whole adult life is public knowledge. You should be able to come up with plenty .

I don't see evidence of your decency, but I won't assume the contrary.

    No morality? None?

So when he meets the queen of England he might grab her between the legs? Or more precisely, the Q of E might reasonably fear that he might suddenly grab her between the legs?

Why should I? I don't know him. I don't think you do either. I've read negative stuff and positive stuff. No idea what the balance sheet, as God knows it, really shows.

    Judge not....

My life, my decisions, my professional and personal conduct are just a little more private than Donald Trump's. You cannot be expected to see my decency over a debate forum. We definitely should see some of Pres. Donald Trumps. Matter of fact the GOP voters should have demanded they saw some before he became the nominee, and the voters of America should have demanded they see some before they voted him President. Its been 3+ years, and we still have not and we sure have seen more than a little suspect behavior, speech and tweets that suggest decency is in pretty low supply. Its time to make an assumption.

Tell me that positive character stuff. Its been literally decades he's been in the public eye. I am sure you can find some real honorable, decent behavior and decisions you would like to bring to our collective attention. Tell me what I have missed seeing in this fine upstanding basically good human being.... Find the evidence he is honest, or fair minded, or compassionate or honorable, or kind, or brave, or self sacrificing, or faithful, or loyal, or respectful.... I am not asking that he be all these things. Just some of them and you get to pick and you get to tell us stories where he reflected those values. . I will wait.

In other words, Chef, **** or get off the pot!

Of course the cynic will not be persuaded, I get that.

About 50% of my friends and family are democrats, and I care just as much about them as I do my conservative friends and family.

Don't let the democrat/republican train carry you to Palookaville with the rest of the political nut jobs.

I love talking smack about some of the panty waste liberals out there, but at the same time I also realize that they are creatures of their own environment ...........as much as I am mine.

    Live and let live.

I do understand progressive taxation. Clearly, you also don't understand the effect of it. When you say "most of the top economists", you're copping out to an authority that you haven't defined, and frankly couldn't. You asked for and continue to ask for higher taxation rates for folks at an arbitrary income level because why? It's a simple question. You demanded that these folks pay more, ok, so why? You still haven't answered that questions. You backslide to stupid talking points, and have zero ability to actually discuss why putting this amount of financial drag on successful folks is a good thing. Your appeal to authority is baseless.

A flat tax is. It is neither regressive, or progressive. It simply is. Saying that folks who make less income then pay more is stupid. They pay the same. Do you believe that folks who make less should just pay less taxes? How is the remotely equitable for the rest of society? Frankly, we've seen what your economic ability is, and it appears superficial at best. No. You don't know economics, you have zero ability to express how growth happens, or why, and you simply don't understand that no one is giving anything to the rich. And frankly that is offensive. Did it never occur to you that the rich giving their money to the government isn't exactly the same thing that you're whining about? "giving money to the rich"... Laughable.

People who work, are successful investing, etc, and are rich aren't being given anything. They are being fairly compensated for the risk and their ability. I know, you clearly don't understand that. Which, again, is why I asked why you are so envious.
