The President can not legally refuse to appoint a new Vice-President, under the 25th amendment, It's consider a duty to do so. Refusing to protect himself from removal under the 25th amendment is an impeachable offense.

Yep maybe that's why Trump likes Pence. He knows Pence will never steal the spotlight

I see this garbage every now and then, where a ludicrous idea is put forward in the hopes of starting more rumor and speculation.
Such shenanigans are a good part of the reason why the left has no real traction; they are making it up as they go along, always with the goal of eroding Trump support- with never a thought to the detrimental effect on legitimate discussion of relevant causes, and the general benefit of the nation. Every time one of them plays that game- more democrats realize they will not be able to vote democrat.

    Trump appreciates your support.

I agree it's bizarre that these sort of threads get posted that are nothing more than a wish their heart makes without anything backing it up. It's along with trump won't leave office threads that sprinkled all over this site.

Well I remember when there were extreme rightbwingy conspiracy shows on shortwave radio and they claimed that :
-Clinton will declare a national emergency and stay in office after his second term. They even said that the executive order was already on the leftbside of his deal waiting for his signiture
    - Clinton had agreed to let -
A- UN baby blue helmeted troops into the country so take over once he declared Marshall law. They were hidden in South Dakota
B- Chinese troops into the country to take over all our police departments . They were hidden in North Dakota
The same kind of stupid crap was said about Obama but by then we had the Internets so it was spread on forums like this

    A shortwave radio show?

    Oh my, it's serious then!

I'm not sure why you try to legitimize your crazy conspiracy theories by referring to other crazy conspiracy theories. Do you think comparing the daily nonsense like this thread OP to a shortwave radio conspiracy show somehow justifies this thread?

No, my point was that there have been conspiracy theories for a long time now. I also believe that I was responding to a post that mentioned Trump not leaving after his last term was up. The same was said about Clinton and Obama.

Shortwave was interesting before the Internet. I monitored BBC, VOA Voice of America, RFE - Radio Free Europe, laughed at Radio Moscow.. My dad got me going on BBC and RFE when I was a kid. Once we made contact with our family ( cousins) from Ukraine ( they came to visit) just before the USSR broke up they told me they repaired a 1930's German radio that my Grandfather hid from the Soviet Russians before they sent him to Siberia. That is how they kept up on real news and they listened to Mass on radio Vatican. Of course Radio Liberty and RFE and VOA.

It depends on what he needs to win. Pence was a solid milquetoast running mate in 2016 but...

if he could convince Tulsi Gabbard to switch to the republican ticket and run with him... that would be a bombshell!!!!!

Your shortwave history if pretty interesting, but on the topic, justifying some kooky conspiracy theory because the other side also had one doesn't seem to justify either. It's been my observation that the party out of power seem to generate the conspiracy theories, and your side has been going full blast for the past two and a half years.

Pence is what is 'normalcy' for the GOP. Pence is a possible bridge for enough votes to get the Trump man to victory.

The side that desperately clings to ideas like "Is Trump going to dump Pence" without a shred of evidence.

It is a euphemism for someone who does not have the testicular fortitude to stand up to Trump. The Eunach stares at Trump like a junior high school girl in love with a guy who is a senior.

Isn't a Vice President supposed to be loyal to the president?

He is required to nominate a new VP, but there isn't any set time limit. If push comes to shove and scotus steps in and gives him a deadline, he can nominate anybody he wants, and I highly doubt the senate would want to confirm me. I'm an ornery ol' cuss.

If for some reason there is no VP when the president dies, then Nancy Pelosi would become president.

I don't think so. It's really an honorary position with nothing to do until the president croaks or is removed from office. Originally, the VP would be whoever came in second place in the general election, so that would have made Hillary the VP.
