Over a Million Households Climbed to Middle Class Under Trump, Census Data Shows
More than 1.2 million American households moved to above $50,000 in annual income between 2016 and 2018, according to Census Bureau data released on Sept. 10, a sign of a growing middle class.

The data is a boon to President Donald Trump, whose platform is centered on a strong economy and promises of increased prosperity.
Gosh, Democrats, I hope you've made reservations for the Scream Helplessly at the Sky event in January 2021. Here's a blast from the past to savor.

You were being disingenuous. You took one item out of context and made a thread about it. .

Oh my Zod! I didn't mention the change in methodology for the same reason I didn't mention that black unemployment is at its lowest level ever, and that low-wage industries are booming, and fewer people are on welfare: because 1. it would have been too much info, and 2. I gave the link so you could check it out.

But since you're so concerned about the methodology change, this should set your suspicious mind at ease:

Still, the data bears out a middle-class expansion unseen since the 1960s. Nearly 30 percent of households pulled in between $50,000 and $99,999 in 2018. That’s up from less than 29 percent the year before—the fastest increase since 1968.
I'll just assume you've apologized for using a $5 dollar word to wrongly call me a liar.

    Yawn.

Yet another fake news item by a right-wing advertising rag with cooked numbers for trumpettes to fawn over while Dirty Donnie continues his lies and theft.
Might as well have been published by Breitbart.

    Nothing new.

And all it took was the largest non-recession government spending deficit in the history of the United States.

Who could have ever guessed massive spending when it isn’t needed would do this?!?

The answer is of course everyone with a basic understanding of finances.

I heard a speech by Trump the other day where he said he wants to help the middle class... I was very pleased with this, I firmly believe out middle classes are the strength and backbone of our western societies, it should be a protected species :)

Median income by definition is where half make more and half make less. So your idea is BS.
Now if your trying to say 1 million people now make what was middle class last year you might make that argument. But then of course that number doesn't mean much either, because of normal wage growth and inflation.
So yes, it's just another one of those RW articles.

Can you show a graph of this metric over the past 10 years or is this yet another case of Trumpists irrationally giving Trump credit for pre-existing trends, just like they do for things like employment, manufacturing output, consumer confidence, the stock market, etc. etc.?

    'cough" BS 'cough".
Obama.. "get used to the new normal"...
just amazes me.. oh.. wait.. no it doesn't; the spin Leftist put on the Trump economy..
Funny that, well maybe not, Obama blamed Bush for four years for the "mess he inherited" .

I will say one thing about the economy Trump inherited.. after 8 years of having the socialist boot holding down the economy.. pushing the Obama economy of our necks couldn't help but increase prosperity.. lowest unemployment for minorities since they started keeping records, smallest difference in employment rate between whites and minorities too, 6.4 million Americans off of food stamps.. yeah.. Obama didn't "build that". Amazing the disconnect with reality.. oh .. wait.. no it's not, it's been demonstrated for decades now by the Left, willful disregard of reality. Socialism is death to all but the rulers.

Can you show me any overall chart that shows something other than a continuous trend line from about 2010 to present?

Since it’s trumps economy and he is the only one given credit surely you should be able to point to a spike about 6 months into his presidency.

Let’s start with these two simple graphs.
Care to point where trump policies increased anything off of the previously set trend?

A quote from Obama doesn't matter. The actual trends do. They only people crediting Trump are those who can't read a graph or refuse to consult one. Employment, manufacturing output, consumer confidence, GDP in real dollars, and every stock market index were already on an upward trend for years before Trump took office. These are facts. The inability of Trumpists to deal with these facts does not stop them from being facts. Take any economic factor you are giving Trump credit for and try looking at it over the past 10 years.
