Right now there are no international laws of war that covers the use or armed UAV's.

But I'm betting that there will be and using an armed UAV will become a war crime.

The firebombing if Dresden was a war crime.

The rule of thumb, the winning side isn't prosecuted for war crimes.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2018/08/trump-war-terror-drones/567218/

I have not analyzed this article but it is from the Atlantic dated 08/2018.
Title. "Trump's secret war on terror"
Article says that Trump expanded the war on terror says that Trump "abandoned" Obama era rules on drones and civilian populations.

Trump has changed just about everything that Obama did so why would Trump keep Obama's rules on drones for combat!!

Yes it was because Trump viewed Obama as to soft with drone killings.
So now Trump owns the dead Aline Nuts and their dead kids! Right?

While the killing of innocents is a shame, the left seems more disturbed about this than the weekly murder totals that come out of their own cities.

If you guys follow history, the way to win a war is to crush the support of the populace for that war, that and preventing their means of logistical support.

Cite your assertion, Steve N, that the left is more worried about drone killings (when in fact it is the traitorous far right that gets upset far more than any other group) "than the weekly murder totals". You can't do it.

Yeah, and Bush made it official with the Hague Invasion Act.

Effects. This authorization has led the act to be nicknamed the "Hague Invasion Act", because the freeing of U.S. citizens by force might be possible only through an invasion of The Hague, Netherlands, the seat of several international criminal courts and of the Dutch government. When Bush's admin in early 2002 began to leave international war crimes treaties, I knew the invasion of Iraq was a done deal.

Have you ever considered that Trump may not like eating nuts, in particular pine nuts ?

I'm more concerned that I might be sitting on a bus bench next to some dude who Putin or the Chi-Coms want to kill and they use a drone and blow up the bus bench with me sitting on the bench next to the targeted dude.

I understand and agree with you that Putin and the ChiComs would very likely attack someone without regard for innocents nearby.

Now pine nuts are not all they are cracked up to be.

President Trump killed about 30,000 civilians in Afghanistan in 2018? Post a link from an unbiased source or it didn't happen.

I'm more concerned on how many American troops were killed in Afghanistan during the eight years under Bush compared to Obama.

More American troops were killed in Afghanistan during the first 3 1/2 years of the Obama administration than the entire eight years under Bush.

1/2 of those American troops who were killed from 2009 to 20016 were killed because of Obama's PC rules of engagement.

Jake, how can you tell they were civilians? Does the Taliban wear uniforms?

And a whole lot of ME civilians were killed when Barry allowed ISIS to run rampant, against the advice of his generals.

I almost didn't vote for Obama over this. But I knew Romney would do the same thing. But I was/am not happy with our drone strike policy. Killing innocent people is an excellent way to create more terrorists. And what we're doing is lazy. We need to go back to what we used to do when we needed someone eliminated: up close and personal. Keep the casualties to a minimum.

Difficult to do when jihadis purposely hide among civilians.

I always wondered why Obama thought it was OK to drone kill suspected terrorists, and people around them, but not to waterboard known terrorists in Gitmo.

Does that mean the price of pine nuts will skyrocket?
