No only in CA, and 3rd time, those cars will meet all other standards.

Car companies are not political hacks. They make business decisions, not political ones. People in other states are having to pay for your regulations and they don't like it. Does that help you understand?

Maybe CA could get them from China if their social credit score is high enough.

Of course and it costs us more because of a state in which we don't reside. The auto makers make a business decision to impose California regulations on everyone. We wish they would build more expensive cars just for your state. It is obviously more profitable to build all the cars with california regulations. We are complaining about it. Get over it.

That's no the issue and this is not uniquely about cars built in CA.

That's not making literal sense. How would that violate interstate commerce law?

The OP is not at all clear about any of that. What I don't get is why you think there is some possible violation of the law. I really don't think it's illegal to want vehicles that are more efficient.

If it's not economically feasible to retool the plant, how are those four manufacturers able to do it?

Not at all. First, those aren't my regulations. Second, people in other states are not required to pay for those decisions. Third, auto manufacturers do make business decisions, and they must decide if they want to have a share in the Ca. market.

It could be that they almost double the state with the next most vehicles registered in it.

    https://www.statista.com/statistics...of-registered-automobiles-in-the-us-by-state/

So what you are complaining about is called, democracy, where the majority has it's say. And Honda, BMW North America, and Volkswagen all make cars here and in turn employ many many Americans in other states such as the South and midWest. So let's not pretend they have zero say in the matter. Their biggest market is California. Why wouldn't they cater to their biggest market? That's called smart business. They are FREE to make cars to lessor emissions standards in other states. California CANNOT and isn't TRYING to stop that at all, so I fail to see the issue here.

How much extra have you paid because of Ca. law?

I wanted to buy a pickup truck but the prices are astronomical. I wanted a little two-door pickup with a 6' bed and without all the bling and trash. I wanted one like my old Ford Ranger with a 4 cyl. 5 speed that got 30 mpg.. They don't make those anymore because consumers wanted four-door four-wheel drive monstrosities with the biggest engines made. The mileage on those beasts is crippling and they cost more than my first two houses. I'm mad as hell about the business decision they made long ago to stop making those little gems. Which state is responsible for that?

Working for your dad your entire career is the same as being unemployed because it's not a real job. You didn't earn it, you can't lose it, and you aren't accountable for your performance.

Kinda like your mom, which would have been more relevant to the topic than your post. Especially since Hillary Clinton actually didn't work for her father. Ever.

Now if you are referring to her marrying Bill Clinton and using his political career to help launch her own, I suppose you have a partial point. But Bill didn't force the people of New York to hire her and he certainly couldn't force the democrats to nominate her the first time nor the nation to vote for her in 2016. On the other hand, Ivanka, Don Jr, and the other sort of son Eric all have the same jobs they were given...just like Donny boy was given a job plus 400 million in you know, "starter money." But I know saying Hillary Clinton to anyone who doesn't like Trump makes you feel good, so go on, take a victory lap and see if that makes it any bigger.

Now now, don't make me make you cry.

See, you figured it out. Good job.

Maybe the pot-smoking Obama kids will get up to speed soon. Probably not though.

You just can't get it can you. It's not econical to retool for two seperate lines of cars with separate production facilities one for California and one for the rest of us so what will happen is we will all be forced into more expensive California cars. If you feign confusion again I'll have to consider you a troll. Nobody is that stupid that is capable of posting a legible sentence in here

It's not the free market having its say. It's not the citizens of California asking for more expensive cars to be made for them. It is the wack job California government imposing these standards on California that would force all of us into being California subjects by proxy. Obviously you don't see the difference between the free market and government regulation which is par for the course for a liberal .
By the way it's not emission standards it's mpg standards. You don't even know what the subject matter is of this thread you are attempting to debate here.
By the way the subject is mpg standards not emissions standards. Huge difference.
