You can use your coloring book all day to deny it, but you know it's true.

He isn't even an appointee, not official. He's just "acting."

See the thread I just started on the alarming number of "acting" executives in Trump's administration. Be afraid ... be very afraid.

Perhaps it is similar to stonewalling that went on about Russia collusion. I'm ignoring it because I don't have the same information you must have to write such nonsense.

The only stonewalling I see is from the congress, and their willingness to use this for political gain. The very idea that an intel agency could "blow the whistle" is insane on its face. The fact that so many liberals have ingested the hook, well, that's just gravy here. Can you, for an instant, recall what the liberal posters here said about the malfeasance of ms Clinton at Benghazi? I can. So, explain the existential angst now. It seems like a pot, kettle kind of hypocrisy that only liberals ever engage in.

Be that as it may, though, this IG of the NIA doesn't have jurisdiction over the President, or any of his or her negotiations. period. The nothing burger here is massive, and yet, it consumes the liberal media these days... Laughable if it wasn't so actually dangerous. All I can say, liberals, is careful what you wish for...

I don't need a coloring book. I have the facts on my side, of which you have offered exactly.........none.

    No, you have politifact.

The fact is that Obama broke US sanctions on Iran illegally to load foreign cash onto a plane and send it to Iran. That's why he didn't just wire it.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Obama's JCPOA lies in the scrap pile.

Um they have never been requested to turn over a report that doesn’t involve someone from the intel community before. That’s why they had to check with the DOJ and OLC, and were told that it would violate all sorts of things if they did

Federal allegiance is sworn to the Constitution, not to the President. If the law says such must be reported to Congress, that's what must be done. No one is above the law, including the President. He may not "negotiate" for his personal benefit. If he offered to release the $250 million passed by Congress and initially withheld by him, in return for a quid pro quo for negative information on his political opponent, that could qualify as an "abuse of power."

What makes you think the whistleblower is not in the intelligence community? Because that isn't what has been reported.

And even if true, that does not mean the DNI has the right to withhold a "credible and urgent" report from congress.

Because that’s what I read was reported..at least what the DNI said.

Because the law doesn’t require disclosure to the house committee on intel unless it is

I was right and I was wrong with that prediction yesterday.

I was right in the sense that the media would quickly get its hands on the story.

I was wrong in the sense that it is happening right now, not a week from now. I should have known. The Wall Street Journal broke the story, as did the Washington Post.

The Post writes, "The big, unanswered questions here are essentially: Did Trump make some kind of promise to a foreign government (apparently Ukraine) that would involve using official government resources ($250 million in military aid) for personal gain. And if he didn’t make a promise, how persistent were his efforts to gain foreign assistance?

"Thanks to reporting from The Washington Post’s national security team this week, though, we now know that this whistleblower’s complaint involves Trump and alleges that he made some kind of a “promise” to a foreign leader. We then learned that the complaint involves Ukraine. By Friday afternoon, we learned Trump had pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a July 25 call to launch an investigation involving the Bidens. (The Wall Street Journal first reported that and said Trump pressed Zelensky on the matter about eight times)."

Politico reported in an August 28 article, "The Trump administration is slow-walking $250 million in military assistance to Ukraine, annoying lawmakers and advocates who argue the funding is critical to keeping Russia at bay."

Trump maintains his innocence, of course. First, he says, “It doesn’t matter what I discussed,” when it matters a great deal what was discussed. Then he said his phone call with President Zelensky had been “a beautiful conversation."

All of which begs a question. If Trump is innocent, why is he hiding?

Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire has refused to share the whistleblower complaint with Congress as required by law, and the White House Office of Legal Counsel has been involved in efforts to keep it from Congress.

Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, insisted to CNN’s Chris Cuomo that he didn’t ask Ukrainian officials to investigate Biden — but then, less than 30 seconds later, did a complete about-face and admitted that “of course” he did just that.

Why? The mission of our intell agencies is the security of the United States. If anyone, no matter who it is, is threatening that security -- like using a foreign power to influence a Presidential election -- then that must be reported to our representatives in Congress.

This may come as a shock to you, but we live in a democracy. Those intell agencies work for us, and our representatives oversee them.

Judging from your statement, you didn't know that.

He was told to say that by Trump's lawyers.

That is not what the law says. The law states that if the I.G. determines that a whistleblower complaint is credible and urgent, the DNI must report it to the House intell committee within seven days.

Any threat to our national security, regardless of who is making the threat, is a matter for the intell community. The threat was credible and urgent according to the I.G. appointed by Trump.

    Who told you that?

And can you produce that code section?

It's all over the internet as well as network news.

If the complaint meets that standard, the inspector general is to forward it to the director of national intelligence. The law says that within seven days of receiving the complaint, the director in turn shall forward the material to the House and Senate intelligence oversight committees.

Just tell it straight. Congress has a right to subpoena that report, and the agency has the legal duty to submit it.

Since we have no idea who the whistle blower is, or even if it's a him or a her, that's an assumption, on one guy's say-so. The IC IG obviously thought it was an intel person, or else he wouldn't have used the intel community's whistle blower rules in handling what he deemed "credible and urgent."

Actually, the REAL story is about a whistle blower who is trying to use the statute to cover up previous leaks. Nothing but a lame attempt to try to deflect after being caught red handed.

Someone spilled the beans about how the whistle blower was already under investigation prior to the August.

Another Adam Schiff attempt to create a headline...

The Dems are in a panic. Not a single item in their smear playbook is having an impact against Trump.

Cogress's job is to serve American people not to waste their money and time on trying to get the president Democrats don"t like.I have never seen bigger taxpayers" money as well as time wasters. Self-centred, selfish and shameless democratic members of the congress. Bunch of obstructionists who don't give a toss about the country and American people.
