Yep, just like Chicago. Just another example of how the left doesn't really care about mass shooting victims, those folks are just numbers in the leftist arguments against lawful gun ownership. They want to take away our guns but will do nothing about illegal possession of a firearm even if it's used in the commission of a crime. What I mean is most states have these laws on the books but don't enforce them. If someone is found in possession of a firearm that is not licensed to do so, in most states that doesn't arise to more than a misdemeanor. In addition to that, the illegal use of a firearm to commit a crime is usually not even a consideration when prosecuting that crime and even if it is any penalty is moot in a plea deal. It should be a stand alone felony with a heavy penalty of say 10 years with no parole. In the instance of someone with mental issues in possession of firearms and demonstrating dangerous behaviors they should be removed from society permanently. Fill the prisons and build new psychiatric facilities or the killings will just go on. Those are the kind of decisions the left aren't willing to make to make.

So much lack of knowledge. Where to begin.

First of all "statistics" show that 0.8% of firearms come from "gun shows".

    https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/suficspi16.pdf

Secondly, all gun stores require a background check to buy a firearm, and you cannot LEGALLY go to Indiana from Illinois and buy a handgun. The gun must be sent to an FFL in Illinois, and you go to the FFL doing the background check to receive the firearm.

Yes, GUN STORES are rwquired to perform background checks. Private owners can sell to anyone they want with no background checks, including with sidearms. Only licensed gun dealers running a business are required to perform checks under federal law.

And you are citing the percentage of gun crimes where the criminal bought the gun from a gunshow and then committed a crime with it.

I am talk about illegal dealers buying guns from gun shows. 10% of FFL dealers, according to federal law enforcement, are correupt and knowingly sell to criminals.,...And gun dealers often buy guns from private owners at gun shows under the table so that they don't have to record the purchase on their business records, which makes it easier to sell the gun without getting caught.

Hmmm........funny how that happens, isn't it? This is shocking, is it possible that criminals are willing to violate strict gun laws? That is scary, I never imagined. Maybe we should make murder and robbery a crime.

Yes, I'm citing actual statistics of gun show guns used in crimes.

You didn't cite a source for your claim.

If 10% are corrupt, then why haven't they been shut down? I mean if they know how many people are doing it seems kinda straightforward.

You notice that everything you're talking about is already criminal activity.

It's already against the law to do all of these things.

But sure, making it double illegal will solve the problem. I'm sure this will force criminals to stop buying guns from other criminals.

Maybe we could do this with illegal drugs and solve that problem too.

No, they would rather create new laws that only harass and infringe on the law abiding. Nevermind that new laws wont effect criminals.

if every American has the right to own a gun, how can they be illegal

they are illegal to use in a crime

like speech is illegal to use when issuing a death threat kinda thing

most crimes with guns are done with legally owned guns or possibly a parents or family members guns

Nope......it seems some here have the belief that no-one in the USA cares about Australia.....and I guess that is why Trump has been hosting him in the last 24 + hours including at only Trump's second State Dinner. Oh well, there ya go.

I don’t understand. Are you comparing your PM to Putin or Kim? I thought Trump only associated with thugs and dictators? In all seriousness, what kind of job is your PM doing? What would you change about him if you could?

He is a Snake Oil Salesman, and failed at even that....got sacked from Tourism Australia......after this flop:

Happy Clapper pentacostal and thus his hypocrisy. He is a liar.

Can talk the talk....does not seem to be walking the walk. Our economy is not flash but he talks it up as if it was gang busters. Not your typical knock-about-Aussie as he over plays.

    THE CORNER
    LAW & THE COURTS
Study: the Vast Majority of Gun Crime Isn’t Committed by Lawful Gun Owners
    By DAVID FRENCH
    August 12, 2016 9:40

Here’s news that should shock exactly no one – the vast majority of gun crimes are committed by people who did not lawfully purchase their firearms. They are committed with guns that are either stolen or obtained illegally.

    * Mexicans are living between organized crime on the street and their adversary organized crime in the government. Two different mafia, one on each sides.

    * In the U.S. organized crime took over the government and the streets are run by ragtag gangs. The Mafia on only one side.

which free Americans do you think do not have a constitutional right to own a gun?

every free American has a right to own a gun to protect their homes and families

owning a gun is a right, not a privilege like driving a car

Yes but you said most crimes are committed with guns that are legally owned. That is patently false. The 2nd Amendment extends to all Americans but every state has a law that says you cannot own one without a license and licensure is at their discretion.
