    https://www.foxnews.com/us/school-c...er-cheerleaders-punished-for-pro-trump-banner

1)We've got to look at this school on its own merit. Did they ever allow someone to pose with Obama stuff or Bush stuff in the past or since this rule of no political signs on campus was passed?

2)Canceling the game because there was a rally for these girls who really didn't get in trouble is a sad cowardice move.

3)Will the girls be blamed for the rally someone else was holding for them?

Yeah, well, you know, high schools are not allowed to cheer for their country or their president. It is a well-known fact that as soon as you allow your shcool children to express an once of patriotism for the nation or the leadership you're just asking for Communism to take over!!!

Not sure if you are sarcastic or serious. But like I said, gotta look at this particular high school exclusively. Cant look at other high schools, especially outside this state, even if they have murals of Obama.

    https://www.wbal.com/article/411025...-week-over-red-white-and-blue-day-controversy

Principal Jason Williams wrote that there have been students making demeaning and derogatory statements about the Red, White and Blue Day.

Some parents of the students at the high school in Pasadena have shared their concerns on Facebook with statements such as "it is a sad world we live in where students can't even wear the colors of the country they live in."

So the OP failed to read his own link all the way to the end?

That ruling applies to schools across the ENTIRE STATE!

Comparing that school to what happens in OTHER STATES is disingenuous.

This is NOT about the BLOTUS since that ruling applies to ALL political signs.

Trying to make this into a PARTISAN issue is nothing more than FAKE OUTRAGE!

Where is your EVIDENCE that this is even a school?

The image just says that it is a POLLING PLACE.

Just a polling place? It has political images in a polling place?

That is NOT what I posted!

Try reading EXACTLY what I posted instead of what you IMAGINE I posted.

No, I read it. It wasn't the state that brought down the punishment on the cheerleaders, it was the school, so you have to look at the school for their track record in these matters. Its like you cant condemn the police in NYC for the policies or the way GA police handle their arrests. Or how condemning the justice system for the rulings of the liberal judge in the affluenza case. Focus on this one school with their administration and see if this rule has been applied equally in the past. I say if this is the first time this situation has come up, they are good for sticking to their rules and no special treatment has been given. Good on the school for following the rules. If this is abnormal since Trump has been POTUS, then the bias needs to be called out. I am betting it is the former and this was blown up out of proportion. The girls got a slap on the wrist for a rule they probably didn't know about.

You don't even get the point. I am saying to focus on one school, and you think I am comparing it to others around the country. That is a polling place inside a school. But that's not the point, I am showing how what is done in one high school in another state is NOT how this school should be judged.

Thanks for the addition, but why does the game get canceled this week when the girls did the posing last week? I don't even get the correlation here, since "red white and blue" day was last week and "spirit week" seems to be this week. This article is from Friday, and there are no notes or dates of when any of this stuff took place.

Anyways, the game was cancelled because there was a support rally for the girls who got probation. That's a slap on the wrist for their ignorance to a rule at state level. Probably wouldn't have been an issue if woke twitter didn't raise a stink about the photo, since it was posted to twitter before being brought to the attention of the administrators. Its cowardice all around, and people need to stop succumbing to the twiterati.

In the ancient days when I went to school, you were allowed to wear a pin for a candidate
but that was all. Your car could have bumper stickers also. But no political signs of any type were allowed on school grounds. As a matter of fact I think there is a law here in Mass stating that and not just a school rule.

You do realize that what you are doing with this thread is contributing to blowing it out of proportion, right?

    WRONG!

You disingenuously paraphrased what I actually posted thereby deliberately altering both the meaning and intent of my original statement which is a mischaracterization violation of the PF Rules.

But that is entirely YOUR problem, not mine!

Of course I am being sarcastic - about this subject and the one about banning guns being Communist.

    Your total comment was
"Where is your EVIDENCE that this is even a school?

The image just says that it is a POLLING PLACE."

How did that change the meaning?

Don't you see anything wrong with a polling place with a painting of Obama?

Well, I'm not taking any sides. I think if the students want to honour their president they ought to be able to do that. On the other hand if the students are not so happy with the country they ought to be able to wear any colour they want.

Do you remember Vietnam? I am a Vietnam veteran and I am damned glad the people protested so hard against the president and the country that they (not the government) ended the war.

I am doing no such thing. I have only stated the facts and said it is cowardice to cancel the game because of a rally in support of the cheerleaders. There is nothing I have said that is out of proportion with what has been reported.

By bringing attention to this molehill you have created enough attention for it be treated as yet another mountain of rightwing disinformation.

While you are not solely responsible for doing so but had you ignored it given that it was a LOCAL STATE ISSUE then the unnecessary attention is far less likely to have occurred.
