There are posters in this forum who do nothing by attack elected office holders on both sides of the isle. IMO this is a destructive practice in that it takes time and effort away from discussing issues, and spends it on attacks and defenses of political opponents.

To anyone with a half ounce of common sense, the reality that no person is all bad or all good is undeniable. Every political office holder, has positions that can be supported and positions that can be criticized by all of us.

The act of nonsensically attacking the sitting office holder only serves to justify the same treatment of the next office holder when political parties exchange control.

This kind of political game playing is not in America's best interest and in fact damages us as a country. I will go so far as to say it is detrimental to our country, and that the people who engage in it are not real patriots.

With both of our last 2 Presidents from both parties, we have seen an effort to undermine our political process and to remove them from office despite them being lawfully elected. This is extremely dangerous and detrimental to our country. It lays groundwork that perpetuates this practice and ensures it will continue with all office holders in the future.

We need to look at the bigger picture and to put an end to this tantrum based political warfare otherwise it is going to destroy our country from the inside out.

Jdog I agree in theory unfortunately its the Politicians of ether party tthat carry the message, so to attack the message you have to attack the messenger if you disagree. For example Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, how can you not attack her and her posse they are so disgustingly outrageous and obviously so biased and mindless that they themselves are a danger to america.

Not anywhere near the degree it is happening now. There used to be a time in this country, not too long ago, when no matter how heated an election was, when it was over people had the maturity to accept the results and go about their life.
Today people refuse to accept the election results and set out to interfere, obstruct, file frivolous law suits, riot, and act in a extremely unethical and unpatriotic manor.
To be frank, they act like spoiled children that did not get their way and are throwing tantrums.
This not only weakens the office, but lays the groundwork for the next elected official to receive the same or worse treatment from the other party.
It is a cycle that I fear will only get worse going forward. It seems as if our society is becoming more uncivilized every election...

May I remind you what you just posted on Warren:

"Actually, most people will see it as a dishonest attempt to gain preferential treatment in college by claiming to be something she was not. Her credibility is shot to hell with most of the public, and she has already declared war on the eliete, between the two, I doubt she will even get the nomination, she is unelectable."

So, let me get this straight, partisan politics and smearing opponents on ONE mistake they made in their career, for which they have apologized, seems to be all good when it furthers YOUR partisan agenda.

Of course, when people criticize the MANY abhorrent things Trump has done, it is dangerous partisan politics to destroy the country from the inside. OKAY!!!!

Negative campaigning and smear campaigns work. Do you doubt that, if Warren should become president, conservatives and the RW noise machine would refrain from throwing dirt at her for even one second, rationalizing it by "it's for the good of the country"?

It comes down to blatancy. Name the one thing that Trump is remembered for saying? There isn't one. That is the difference. When the name Warren in mentioned most people automatically think Pocahontas! she lied about being Native American!

Where she has really screwed herself though is her radical tax plans. She has made herself even more dangerous to the globalists than Trump. Actually the entire field of Democratic candidates have made themselves more dangerous to the globalists than Trump, and that took some doing because the globalists hate Trump.

Nothing I said in your example was a personal attack on Warren, simply a analysis of the situation. As I said, heated debate during an election is one thing, while trying to overthrow an election is something quite different.
The Republican's tried tirelessly to impeach Obama, and the Democrats are trying tirelessly to impeach Trump. I think both sides were and are very wrong for doing this, and what's more is it is detrimental to the country as a whole.

People think of "Pocahontas" because Trump has labeled her that way. A personal attack by the president, who you think shouldn't be criticized. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Note that I don't advocate for dirty politics and personal attacks. However, your analysis of the situation comes across as a tad hypocritical when YOU also personally attack politicians YOU don't like because of ONE thing they did wrong in their life. Can you say of yourself you NEVER did anything wrong? if not, then you'd be unelectable too.

Look she got caught red handed in a blatant lie. Now you can give her a pass on that if you want, but most people won't.

In general, I sympathize with the sentiment. But I have been unable to find redeeming qualities in this President. He breaks the law just about every day.

I swear I have tried. I even opened a couple of positive threads about him in the early days of his presidency. But it was useless. The guy is a disaster. He quickly erased his own positive actions. And now I just can't find anything redeeming about him. Maybe if somebody pointed it out.

In light of your OP, why does that matter? She lied, she doubled down on the lie for a while... now she apologized. I don't approve or condone it but... what relevance does that have to her qualifications to be President. Unless you expect a President who has a flawless past. I don't think there is a human being alive that would live up to such standard. That would never happen. And certainly not after Trump.

Meanwhile, and again following your OP, you condone talking about what she said. Which is a smokescreen used to avoid talking about her political positions. She's not my favorite candidate. But it's undeniable that her political positions are solid.

it seems that you can't even adhere to the premise of your threat. Why would you expect anyone else to do so for the guy you voted for, just because he sits in the oval office because of the electoral college?

by the way, Trump has been caught in hundreds of blatant lies, sometimes many and a day. Why don't you hold him accountable?

    LMAO...Indeed. There are hundreds.

“And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything….Grab them by the *****. You can do anything.”

“I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

“An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud”

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

“Despite the constant negative press covfefe”

    Etc., etc., etc.....

Stop polishing turds for trump if you want to make America great again.
You ain't fooling anyone with your moral equivalency schtick.

"We will build a wall, and Mexico will be paying for it.".
"This is an incredible plane. It's stealth—you can't see it.".
"Why do we need more Haitians?, Take them out.”.
“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck.". And later, “The Democrats now own the shutdown.".
"Mexico is not sending us their best. They are sending us criminals and rapists and I believe some good people.".

And the thousands of other lies, divisive demonizing rhetoric, simpleton logic, racists pandering, that clearly exhibit all the attributes of a misogynistic, apathetic, narcissistic, sociopathic, spoiled failed businessman, who only spends daddy's money. He was never qualified to be our President, and certainly not our Commander in Chief. It is ironic, that even though he failed at everything else he tried, he succeeded in a presidential campaign, that was only meant(by his own admission) to be a publicity stunt. He never expected to be elected, nor cared.

His hatred for Obama led to him walking away from the Iran-Nuclear treaty. Does anyone know why Trump pulled out of the treaty? Iran was complying with all the terms of the agreement, according to all European nations and NATO. He then added more crippling sanctions on Iran, increasing the number of women and children dying on the streets. What do you think Iran will do, to save its citizens from starvation? Clearly he wants a war, because the "Kingdom" tells him so. This madman makes me ashamed to be an American. We are becoming worse than any terrorists. The millions of women and children we have indirectly/directly killed, would be a hundred times more than any terrorist group.

Did you know that we are a debtor nation(total of $22 Trillion). We tell other countries how to manage their economies, but don't take our own advice. Do you know the amount of liabilities this country has accrued(the amount that we promise to pay other countries)? 183 Trillion dollars. We have no hope of ever, ever paying this amount back. Like Tulsi says stop these stupid wars, and stop destroying our economy even more. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when.

I wish there was something I could say that is positive about Trump. But I can't. I'm just not good at ignoring the truth, or making excuses for lies. My only agenda is what is in the best interest of "We the people,,". There is only one candidate that shares my interests and views. She is the only candidate that is looking at our future. But she is toxic to the blind/mindless followers of corporate media.

    A LESSON IN ELECTORAL HONESTY

How about if I try to fool you with some econometric schtick. The guy is taking credit for an Economic Rebuild that was well in process by the time he lost the popular-vote but got elected in the manipulated Electoral College. Try this infographic on for size:
US Employment-to-population Ratio history - which gives a damn good idea if an economy is building jobs!

    Note this:
*That the Great Recession lasted from 2008 to November of 2009, when it finally came to stop at a much lower total employment percentage (58.6% of the population)
*In 2008, Americans stoopidly voted the HofR into the hands of the Replicants. Which then refused any-further-government-spending to create jobs (like ARRA the bill that Obama had passed to spike an exploding Unemployment Rate at 11% when he came to office!
*Still, the Replicants wanted to sink his chances of reelection in 2009! So they would not pass any law allowing economic stimulation. They wanted expressly high-unemployment to help their electoral chances! Yes!!!
*What worked nonetheless is that virtually Straight Line in the E-to-p Ratio of the above mentioned graphic showing that from 2009 to 2013 No Further Jobs Were Being Created! None! Zilch!
*Whyzzat? Because, as said above, the Replicant majority in the HofR had refused all further Stimulus Spending. (Go read your history-book if you don't believe that!)

    My Point:
*Finally, in Obama's second term, the above E-to-p Ratio graphic shows when jobs were once again being created by the economy. And that began at the very end of 2009! Long before Donald Dork was "elected" PotUS.
*Donald Dork was NOT ELECTED POTUS BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. He was elected PotUS purely by means of a manipulated Electoral College vote that DOES NOT REPRESENT THE POPULAR-VOTE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
*We've got a fundamental problem as regards Electoral Honesty - one is the disproportionate&dishonest winner-takes-all-votes Electoral College and the other Gerrymandering voting-districts.
*And many, many, many of us today cannot assimilate that fact - because it is contrary to EVERYTHING THEY EVER LEARNED IN CIVICS CLASS

Ours is not yet a Great Democracy and will not ever be one until we correct those two fundamental electoral manipulations that have been around for more than two centuries. Whyzzat? Because no one in either party wants to touch our dysfunctional electoral process!!! (It suits both parties just fine!)

And they will never ever do so without the exigence of the American people as a whole who, seemingly, today could not give a damn!* ...

    *Bitch&moan, bitch&moan, bitch&moan - that's all we are good for!

It is a bit disingenuous to suggest this attack on Trump is personal. The liberals would be attacking any Republican office holder with as much malice as they do Trump, and vice versa.

I do not personally condem her for her lies, in fact in my play book she was simply working the system, which I believe is fair game, but politics is a complicated game and from a practicle perspective, it is all about the 30 second sound bite. Elections are won by money and by the comercials that money buys. It is all about the image which can be sold to the people in 30 seconds. She has provided her detractors with everything they need to sell the public a very negitive view. On top of that she has ensured there will be plenty of "donations" from the upper class she has threatened with her tax plan. Between the two, I believe her campaign is DOA.

My observation is not political, it is practical. I am not condeming Warren morally, every politician lies whenever their lips are moving. I am saying she has given the propaganda machine the ammo to shoot down her public immage.

Like I said it is not a moral issue, it is a practical one. None of the examples of Trump you have made is something that sticks in the minds of most Americans.
Most Americans have accepted the fact that Trump sticks his foot in his mouth pretty consistently, but they also feel he has good instincts, and is doing what is in the peoples best interests.
Warren has a problem in that the first thing most Americans think when you say her name is Pocahontas / liar. I am not sure how you overcome that.
Add to that that the left has shot itself in the foot by its extremist actions ever since Trumps election, and they have damaged themselves considerably.

And so what if it is personal. Sentiment is a major part of politics in any democracy. That is, not on the right-to-vote but also the duty to vote. And, we've a way to go to better voting practices.

But, then, with both the Electoral College and Gerrymandering manipulating the popular-vote at both national and state levels, it is understandable that people ask themselves if it is worth voting. No country, by means of its voting practices, should make voting such a challenge.

    But ours does ...

If the only thing they are going to attack her for is because she incorrectly filled in a registration card which was purely for statistical purposes, I think her chances are pretty good.

You are condemning Warren morally, but criticize others who condemn Trump morally, who by anyone's standard has demonstrated much lower morals than Warren. OKAY!

It seems that you can't even see the double standard in the whole premise of your thread.
