Once Again, Trump Brandishes the Nuclear Option Against Iran

Anyone who has ran a war game against Iran, and knows how that would turn out, realizes that the US has no serious military options against Iran if Iran ever lashes out. That is, in fact, one of several message that was sent by Iran in the recent attack on the Saudi oil fields. These attacks didn't originate in Iran, but they did use Iranian supplied weapons and were directed by Iran. Of this, I am pretty sure.

In the meantime, Trump is caught between looking 'weak' against Iran by heeding the advice of his generals but standing up to those who want the US to punish Iran (mostly folks connected to pro Israel and the military industrial lobby), on the one hand, and doing something that he knows isn't going to bring anything but catastrophe for the United States, namely launching attacks on Iran.

In this mix, he has decided again to choose a 3rd option: to begin talking about things which he believes will cow Iran to submission. He has done this before, when he promised to bring the "official end of Iran" if Iran attacked US interests, to "obliterate Iran" if Iran attacked those interests, and in various other comments where he was even more explicit, saying how he could easily win wars by using nuclear weapons but that is not what he wants to do.

Whether he wants to use nuclear weapons or not, Trump has decided to again raise that subject.

Trump is playing a horrible hand pretty well so far, but he painted himself into a corner of his own creation. When you tear up a previous agreement with no replacement plan in place and alienate your allies, you get what we have here. Which seems to be: Iran can do whatever, so long as it doesn't actually kill any Americans. That's a recipe for disaster. Trump thinks he can sit idly by where Iran blows up his BFF, but Trump will eventually HAVE to do something to avoid looking like a complete bitch.

Trump, to his credit, realized early on he needed to cozy up to a Middle Eastern country. He picked the wrong one. Iran funds terrorist networks that are primarily anti-Israel. They're not insane. We can work with a country like that. Israel would absolutely hate it, but we don't let them dictate foreign policy, and the Israeli's are quite good at countering Iran.

Saudi Arabia funds terrorists that are batshit crazy and who have a history of killing lots of Americans. They export radical Islam and are still doing so. They should have been ostracized from the international community long ago, and would have been, but for oil.

As Iran's foreign minister will be heard saying in an interview that will feature Sunday morning your time in Face the Nation: the ones who will start a war with Iran, won't be the ones finishing it. And, you are right, ultimately it won't matter what weapons you choose to use.

For IRAN, you are just the latest in a long series of forces that have tried to do what cannot be done: subdue a nation that is unwilling to be subdued. Whatever happens in any battle, and in any war with Iran there will be battles to fight in many places around the world, some closer to you than you will imagine now. What is true is that the only way there will be an "official end of Iran" (as Trump threatened once), is if there is an official end to history.

Actually I think the real reason is that he is too ****ing lazy.

 

He has to be under immense pressure from his 'base' to go to war with Iran for the sake of Israel - not Saudi Arabia, people seem to be generally saying they will just be left to rot if need be.

So why is he not when his base and those near him like Pompeo and Pence want such war? He may have bothered to get information from the military on this and understands that going to war with Iran now would end his chances of re-election. I would think he would have to promise such a war after the 2020 election though to please his donors though in the end he might just listen to his military advisers.

With Iran Trump has found people who do not respond to him shouting.

Trump will not attack Iran more than seizing ships or with drones.

 

Trump may start something, but it won't be up to him to decide how things go afterwards.

 

Being the psychopathic, evil, wretched souls they are, the Iranian Islamic tyrants will push the issue. It just may be they’re close to building or procuring a nuclear weapon, or may already have.

Hopefully the West will come to its senses and realize that Islam declared war on the West a long, long time ago, and seeks to rule the world and mankind.

 

Trump will not go to war with Iran, Starjet, unless Iran attacks Israel.

Trump is just making sure that EVERY country now believes they have to run out and get nuclear weapons so the US won't attack them.
