First comes your prejudice. You are making it sound like there are no women who merit positions as much as you do. Hate to break it to you but there are plenty of women who are as good as you or better. But everything being equal those who have been denied employment for hundreds of years should have the first shot to level the playing field
I have worked with women on welfare and have yet to meet somebody to get $70,000. Most of them make barely enough to survive.
You talk about those dangerous jobs..My husband wouldn’t want one of those jobs either so why should women? By the way there are women in these dangerous jobs when they never were before because the jobs were closed to them. Most women prefer jobs that aren’t dangerous like being doctors and lawyers and accountants etc. we Will leave the physical labor to you men and women can do the brain work.
I am sure you were smart enough to know that it was just another one of Biden’s gaffes....At least like trump he didn’t ban blacks from his buildings
Women don’t have it pretty cushy. Women work outside the home plus most of the housework and children raising is still done by the woman. You seem to be so angry and it sounds like you’re blaming women for your shortcomings so I suggest you take action and join the movement for those poor oppressed white males

Oh yes they have absolutely been denied.... clearly you need to do more research on the racism that goes on in South Africa.

Entry numbers, Scholarships and loans are based on race NOT performance... that in itself is denial of entry. You can have 99.9% final score and you will not get a scholarship because you are white. Racist.

The issue is that these affirmative action scholars have Failed... nobody would care as much about affirmative action if these scholars went out and CREATED more jobs, like their white peers did before them... but they have destroyed the economy and now there is no jobs for anyone and no money for scholarships.... food.... water.... security. It's death. In South Africa Affirmative action have and will continue to kill millions of people. But the blind will not see.

Effectively Affirmative Action in South Africa have done as much to impoverish BLACKS than corruption and EVEN Apartheid has.

Well, yes .. we were outraged. Hence the abolition of institutionalised racism (though Asian Americans still suffer education discrimination). Key word abolition. As in, let's not have any more of that nonsense. You don't fix racism by doing more of it.

SOME Asian Americans. Quite a lot don't spend a cent on it .. it's all down to parents. Further, when they DO spend more on it, it's not necessarily because they're wealthier. In fact few such kids are from wealthy families. The majority are from working or middle class families. They can spend money on it because they prioritise education above all else, even basic comforts. The parents will deny themselves even things like a bedroom to save money on housing (instead using it for tutoring). They'll sleep on mattresses on floors, never go out, never take holidays, constantly look for bargains/free stuff, never turn on the heating, etc etc. Anyone who knows anything about the working or middle class Asian in the West, knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Let’s try and stick to America before we make ourselves so morally superior. We are not.If we buy drugs from a drug dealer does that indicate us from being addicts? Let’s concern ourselves of what we did to black people throughout the history of this country. No one is condoning the Africans but we are supposed to be better
And your lack of knowledge about scholarships and loans are bullshit if you have a 99.9% final score you’ll get into college
I am curious when you had white male affirmative action did you believe that the males that were getting into these colleges were inferior? There were a lot of women that had much higher scores who couldn’t even complete .

Yes, you absolutely have to do that, if you intend studying any of the high entry score, high demand STEM courses. And you need to start sculpting at the beginning of high school, not the end.

Sure, but you must have that exam result FIRST, before the 'other stuff' is even considered. If you can't work at the top 1% level, and sustain it for years (as you must to reach that point by high school graduation, and again to survive 5+ years of medicine), they won't take you. Doesn't matter how many extra curriculars you have.

 aw losing argument must insult. Everything I posted is fact, and Americans better start paying attention to what is going on in South Africa, because this is where you are heading.

Calling someone's post bullshit without checking or providing evidence only discredits you. Clearly your only objective here is to troll.

Affirmative action does not fix a class system, it only continues to distort race based discrimination

btw my niece in South Africa who had very high scores wanted to do her honours degree and were denied entry because they only take a certain quota and the only places left were reserved for black entrants who scored lower than her.

Exactly. Any 'superiority' white folk had is now gone. These folk think it's still 1995, so we need to adjust for that antiquated thinking.

And no, Asians were not cut any slack at all. They don't let obstacles stand in their way, is all.

G that sounds like our country for 350 years.except it was white males who didn’t have to compete. I know about scholarships and you’re saying that somebody with a 99.9% score won’t get in because of affirmative action is absolutely ridiculous.
Affirmative action has leveled the playing field. That is why women and people of color are in medical schools and law schools when they were denied in the past. Do you think it just happened in a vacuum? Colin Powell spoke here and he said had it not been for affirmative action he never would have gotten where he is today. There are plenty of women and people of color who are just as competent And to level the playing field is important. If they take women and minorities who are not competent I will agree with you.

Thank you... yes Affirmative action is not only ridiculous... it also fail to fix what it was intended to fix... in fact it only breaks the system beyond repair.

Affirmative action only levelled the playing field in your head... because you choose to overlook the consequences that are mismanagement and incompetence. If these women of colour are the most competent for the job... they wouldn't need Affirmative Action. You only need Affirmative action when you are not up to standard. The effect of putting people who are not properly qualified into jobs they can't do, is the erosion of our economies.

Affirmative action programs are currently running open ended and without scale. At the very least these programs need to be reviewed on a yearly basis to determine the damage... to limit and repair

MY outreach program was aimed at broadcasting this message
to minority High Schools in Santa Ana.

We met once a week and us college students offered
interesting experiences in Science and reminded them
they must start planning by taking Algebra in the 9th grade.

That given the "gift" of a college opportunity graduating High School,
you can't take on the "Sciences" without Algebra in the 9th grade regardless.

One thing stands out is those Latino kids really appreciated us.
Maybe about 12 - 15 at those evening meetings.

My original point was that exam results aren’t the only criteria for uni admission.

I have to tell all those doctors and lawyers that they’re not confident even though they passed the boards but it is easy to scapegoat them and blame them for incompetence as though there was never miss management or incompetence before. And I love your line of women of color are the most confident for the job they don’t need affirmative-action. Absolutely no reality there. They were not hired. There were even jobs in newspapers under male and females. As I said if somebody is not qualified for the job they should not have it. But you are making this conclusion that people of color and women are not competent. Affirmative action has change the lives of millions and millions of women and people of color. They are getting special consideration as compared to getting none
By the way there are many other things other than just purely grades. One advantage is diversity. Another is athletics. Another is volunteer work that was done and many other things that show leader ship

I support ending affirmative action in all places, especially when picking the president.
People should be chosen on their merit.
