Does anyone think this could have been cooked up by the Democrats to get rid of Joe Biden? Knowing full well that the impeachment piece wouldn't work, but that it would bring Biden's corruption in the Ukraine thing to light? I imagine they would like to get Biden out of the way, first because he embarrasses them every time he opens his mouth, and because the Dems who want to be president would love to have his supporters. But are any smart enough to concoct such a stunt? I do not believe the president contenders are, but Pelosi might be.

The Ukrainian President makes explicit reference to his countries' need for military aid. Trump's immediate response is to request a favor.

And keep in mind that Trump has already, as of a week before this call, unilaterally held up hundreds of millions in military aid.

 

Just for your enlightenment what was released is not a transcript. Of course Trump did promise to release the transcript

President Donald Trump announced the White House will release on Wednesday a “complete, fully declassified and unredacted transcript” of the July telephone conversation with now-Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Which raises the possibility that either Trump is too stupid to know what a transcript is or he was just lying one more time.

 

Trump was the whistleblower!

 

A favor if they want their money. It was a shakedown.

The transcript is, explicitly stated, an incomplete record. And the whistleblower complaint explicitly is the result of "multiple events."

And finally, the transcript was never under a legal obligation to be disclosed. The contents of the whistleblower complaint are.

 

He did really muck this up didn't he. He thought by releasing what turned out to be the smoking gun and having a nice chat with Nancy he could weasel his way out of trouble.

No...the transcript was just the opening...much more to follow. Expect Rudy to be subpoenaed. Expect Pompeo to be questioned about the State Department requesting Rudy's assistance. Expect Barr to be subpoenaed to be asked about DoJ's role in blocking the whistleblower's report from going to Congress and the President's request to him regarding a DoJ investigation into Biden and Ukraine. Expect the Acting DNI to be questioned on why he didn't comply with his own IG's recommendation that the whistleblower's report be forwarded to Congress, per law. Expect Trump to be questioned on the reason for withholding the Ukrainian aid (he's offered four different conflicting reasons so far).

He never explicitly said if you do this I'll release money unlike Biden who's on film saying "fire that prosecutor or your not getting 600m". The whistle blower said it was mentioned 8 times and it wasn't.

I gotta feeling when this whistle blower comes forward they'll have a DNC tattoo on their arm and a Hillary tattoo on their leg and no reason to be listening into the presidents phone call.

In the transcript released today President Zelensky brought up Rudy Giuliani and his investigations of the Biden Crime Family with President Trump. Here is the significant portion.... (per DOJ report)



It was Zelensky who brought up the Biden investigation and NOT PRESIDENT TRUMP!

And now this…

The DOJ on Wednesday released their report on the anti-Trump “whistleblower.”

In the report the DOJ reveals that the “whistleblower” has animous against Trump and their entire complaint was based on hearsay. The “whistleblower” was also found to be supporter of Democrat candidate

 

It doesn’t matter if there was an explicit quid pro quo.

#1, Any ask from a U.S. president to a dependent country like Ukraine carries implicit quid pro quos.

#2, it is abuse of power to ask a foreign nation to work with your personal lawyer to investigate a political rival even if there is no explicit quid pro quo attached.

 

LOL! No, I am the person who remembers the thread where Trump's opposition was challenged to paste up an example of a Trump lie. They never could manage to do that. As I pointed out at the time, I am sure Trump has lied at least a few times - he is human.
I was very surprised that his enemies here could not rise to that challenge.
The DP needs to find new strategists and researchers before the 2024 campaign starts. Bit late for 2020 - I suppose.
