Which only proves some people learn concepts and ideas while others only learn words.

Have you looked around recently? Perhaps they have some openings in Cuba... Or Venezuela... China? These are the places, after all, that liberals always point to as their version of Utopian democracy. Is there perhaps a go fund me page or something??

Even Greece and Rome, the inventors of the concept of democracy to begin with, never had direct democracy. They always had representatives elected by the people.

I like to point out that huge decisions like SCOTUS confirmations are controlled by backwater states with more cows than people, while guys like me and 30 million others from California have to live with the consequences for life...

And the opposite is true as well in a democracy. Most of the population is on the coast and yes they will usually outvote the fly over states. But it is good to have a check on their ability to do so ALL THE TIME when the coastal elites have no clue what is best for the rest of the country.

Well, you don't. And absent a number of highly unlikely Constitutional Amendments, you never will. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these are facts you should have been taught in high school.

No, you should have your own country. Your states values are not aligned with American values. California should join with Mexico and become a new country.

And yet, they are not. They are elected by the majority of the electoral college who represent that aggregation of those states that you so summarily dismiss. Interesting that... I doubt you've found that pouting works....

As far as the legitimate concern that California is under represented, let me remind you that your state has more electoral votes than any other, and somehow even with that amalgamation of power, you still couldn't get er done..... So I suppose it just never occurred to you that sending the vixen twins to the Senate wasn't the best option then? Do you suppose that Feinstein and now Harris are doing up the Senate to your satisfaction? Is that perhaps why you envision that you should get 8-10 more? Laughable.

Perhaps California could become a set of City states, and ceed the rest of California back to the United states. It shouldn't be too hard for them to immediately understand the challenges of being independent nations. What with all those things like natural resources they wouldn't have, or be able to produce on their own... The independent nations of Los feels good, and San from the ditch could be beacons of light for those yearning to wear the yoke of elitist socialists in their desire to rule the world. Fun to joke about, but quickly, the majority of those who live there would have to flee the tyranny.

I’ll take those two over any of the bought and paid for corporate whores from backwater states like the Dakotas, Wyoming, Mississippi, Utah, and other underpopulated and over represented states.

Well, likely, the installment plan option you folks are metering out to Feinstein and Harris makes it feel like they haven't fully been paid for yet... :roflol:

Not everyone agrees that Trump actually lost the popular vote by that margin. Some people accuse California of ballot stuffing (or encouraging illegal aliens to vote).
That's why we have the electoral college system in the first place, to make sure allegations of state ballot stuffing do not make the entire national election contentious. It's a winner-take-all system within each state. So each state is responsible for carrying out their elections, and no one will cry foul with accusations that a state threw some extra votes in for their winning candidate.

I have absolutely no idea of who ANY OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE members who selected the current president or for that matter any of his predecessors for my state, and I would bet the 99.9% of the voting public don't know who selected the president for them????What is the point of having people vote on presidential election day, they elect no one!!!!!
