Trump’s weird reference to “CrowdStrike” during the Ukraine call, briefly explained
    https://www.vox.com/2019/9/25/20883373/trump-crowdstrike-ukraine-call-explained

"Trump responded by telling Zelensky, “I would like you to do us a favor though.” He went on to ask him for a confusing favor related to a cybersecurity firm, a billionaire, and a computer server — but its subtext seems to be that Trump wanted help uncovering evidence that he believes would indicate that Russia was framed for hacking the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2016.

“I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike ... I guess you have one of your wealthy people ... The server, they say Ukraine has it,” Trump said, according to the White House."
    .............................................................................................................................
We have known for some time Baby Donald is a lover of conspiracy theories.
    https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-conspiracy-theories-2016-5
Ted Cruz became aware of it when President Sharpie accused Ted's dad of being involved in JFK's assassination. A laughable assertion put forth by a tabloid publisher Don thinks should win the Pulitzer Prize, the National Enquirer.

Wait......hold it........hang on. We have become so desensitized to outrageous things in the error....sorry....era of Trumpery this requires a moment of reflection. We have known for some time Baby Donald is a lover of conspiracy theories. So..........the POTUS IS AN UNABASHED, UNASHAMED BELIEVER IN BASELESS CONSPIRACY THEORIES. That's fine for a housewife bored to tears with her life. Or the guy sitting at the end of the bar mumbling to himself about a Martian invasion. BUT NOT THE POTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this particular case, the genesis of the insanity is the Groper-in-Chief's continued refusal to accept Russia hacked the DNC server as part of their efforts to help him get elected. The Commander-in-Chief, the guy charged with the responsibility of the nation's security, doesn't accept the intel agency's assessment of Russia's activities on his behalf..........and he just admitted it......AGAIN.

For those Trumpette's who, like Don, still believe the server nonsense I encourage you to read the entire article from Vox...........and then..........provide a credible refutation of the facts.

People's time would be better spent taking a dump than reading Vox. You want facts? Crowdstrike never turned over anything to the FBI, neither did the DNC. If that was the RNC, you'd be cluttering up this site without countless conspiracy theories that might actually have legs as opposed to your usual postings.

What don't you provide some ****ing facts? Why did the DNC hide its servers?

What you flaming impeachment hound libs fail to grasp is that it's obvious from the Trump-Zelensky call is that the Attorney General has an ongoing investigation into the origin of the Russian collusion hoax.....and that's very bad news for the left. Biden's involvement with Ukraine was just a side-show bonus.

Yes Trump enjoys conspiracy theories and even gegtting involved in them.

But that is also pretty much irrelevant. This is not about whether we should have a president who loves conspieacy theories it is about what did trump do?

The transcript shows he asked for a favor. What was the Favor? Investigate this crowdstrike stuff.

This may show Trump is goofy and believes in silly conspiracy theories but it does not show any extortion.

But.............what he does is not a reason to excuse his crazy behavior........it's a reason to impeach him.

I’m not reading chit from VOX, or your other favorite, TPM. Trump has way more access to information than you, VOX, Talking points memo, the DNC, and the liberal media combined. Trump is playing you like it’s ladies night in a sailor’s bar. And my god is it a hoot to watch. Lol.

Trump doesn't realize that he himself is the origin of those conspiracy theories. He says something outrageous. And his loyal followers make up a conspiracy theory, which he reads on twitter. And then goes out to pressure even foreign governments to investigate if the conspiracy theories that he himself started are true.

And, of course, his "faithful" in this forum can't lag too far behind.

He didn't? Then why is your reference from 4 months ago?

Barr's job is very simple: he needs to come out every few weeks and say "yeah... we're still investigating the investigators". And that's all he needs to do but... he seems to keep forgetting.

As for the reason why Crowdstrike was mentioned by Trump... yours seems to be the same as the OP's. Unless I misread something.

The reason my reference is 4 months old is because that's when they announced the investigation. They did have to wait for the completion of the Mueller Report after all.

I admit I don't understand why you think Barr needs to come out every few weeks and make some sort of announcement. Why? What's the purpose? He announced the investigation and these usually take some time.

I think Crowdstrike is just one tiny piece. Comey in testimony couldn't explain why when the FBI requested their servers the DNC refused and...they just said OK. I've never heard of anything like that happening before. But I think the real thrust of the investigation is on it's origins and the steps taken to get the point where the Obama administration decided to spy on a presidential campaign candidate.

That's true. It's not a crime. But it should be a disqualifier for anyone making a decision about whether to vote for him to be prez.

Not even remotely true. Where do you get these..............ooops..........never mind...........I forgot............you believe in wacky conspiracy theories.

Then-FBI Director James Comey testified last year that the FBI did not get access to the server, but the DNC hired a private cybersecurity firm that shared its forensic analysis of the DNC server with the FBI.

“[W]e got the forensics from the pros that they hired which — again, best practice is always to get access to the machines themselves, but this — my folks tell me was an appropriate substitute,” Comey said in a March 20, 2017, exchange with Rep. Will Hurd of Texas about the DNC server.

Comey’s testimony that the private forensic analysis was “an appropriate substitute” has since been borne out by the July 13 indictment of 12 members of GRU, the Russian military intelligence agency.

Old, old, fake news. Snopes debunked this one years ago. Six tenuous degrees of separation, You and I could be shown to have ties to Obama, Trump and google.

There is a vast sea of the kind of baseless garbage Trumpette's post. If not for the alternate universe it has created, and Trumpist's exist in, Trump would still just be a lying, tax cheating, fraudulent, blowhard with a TV show.

To reassure Americans that he is working hard to stop corruption, and that he's not asleep at the wheel.

But let me tell you the bad news: he's asleep at the wheel.

However, there is a positive side to that. You can then blame him when nobody gets prosecuted... or even accused of anything. so the right at least has a scapegoat. Not like when you try to explain why Hillary is not in jail. Because the scapegoat is Trump.

My God! I have explained this about 20 times. It's a datacenter, for God's sake! There is no "server"! It's a virtual server. Distributed probably among over a hundred cloud servers which organizations like the DNC rent from huge companies like AWS or Dell or Microsoft... These companies host thousands of companies in the same datacenter using tens of thousands of physical servers usually distributed across several states. And which the DNC was forced to ditch before there was even an investigation because... well... because it was hacked!

This is what a datacenter looks like

    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

I know because the company I own is a virtual server reseller. I have set up dozens...

    Oh the irony!

It's obvious to those who are informed on the current Justice Department investigation on the origins of the Trump spying probe. Doesn't sound like you knew anything about that.

    CBS News? Heh...

The FBI requested access to the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) servers and servers for other Democratic entities that were hacked during the 2016 election, FBI Director James Comey said Tuesday, but its request was not met.

In a hearing with the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday afternoon outlining the intelligence agencies’ findings on Russian election interference, Comey said there were “multiple requests at different levels” for access to the Democratic servers, but that ultimately a “highly respected private company” was granted access and shared its findings with the FBI.

The questions about whether the FBI has asked for access to the servers arose after a BuzzFeed News report that quoted a DNC official who claimed that the FBI had never requested the access.

Asked by Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) whether direct access to the servers and devices would have helped the FBI in their investigation, Comey said it would.

“Our forensics folks would always prefer to get access to the original device or server that’s involved, so it’s the best evidence,” he said.”

So the "conspiracy theory" comes directly from Comey's testimony.

So...why did you insist that Comey didn't request the DNC servers? Sounds like you fell for yet another conspiracy theory...

Actually I recall you making that claim previously, but are you saying your company set up the DNC's virtual datacenter? How exactly do you know that's the set up the DNC had prior to the hack? At least of the date of Comey's testimony (which Lee Atwater and I quoted from) Comey didn't seem to know that.

I wish! The DNC has offices all over the country. If my company had set that one up I would be retiring. We're not that big.

Because there is no other freakin' way an organization as big as the DNC could operate. I've set up virtual servers for companies that might be... a hundredth... the size of the DNC. But operate in several locations within the State. I have a couple of clients that operate in 2 or 3 states. Can you imagine an organization that operates in all 50 states doing this any other way?

I doubt Comey was allowed to talk about it. But it certainly wasn't relevant to his testimony.

This is not just some "dumb conspiracy theory" Trump is pushing. That would be crazy enough but it's actually a lot worse.

This is Trump pushing a Russian meme to exonerate Putin of the 2016 e-mail hacking.

It's Trump paying back his benefactor.

    Putin smiles
